Dr. Charles Emerson Hancock, MD

I went to Dr. Hancock because I had a bad fall and thought I had fractured my knee. The first visit, he x-rayed both of my knees and told me it was just arthritis, but I knew bette r. The second visit I saw the P.A and she said that both of my knees were fractured.and said that I wasn't a candidate for surgery simply because I am in a wheelchait did not walk and refused to give me anything for pain. This has been going on for about three months after slowly losing my mobility and independence. We have decided to move on...

Worst expirance every wouldn't even don't know how he still has his license

Dr. Hancock completely blew it with my daughter's broken collarbone. At her first visit, he spent maybe 2 minutes with us and told her to wear the sling - that was it. After 3 and a half weeks, his assistant (we didn't even see him at this visit) took an X-ray and told us her bone was healed and she could start PT. WRONG!!!! My daughter tried to explain to the assistant where she was hurting and even said she felt pressure when she took a deep breath. Our concerns were completely brushed off. After PT refused to treat her, I took her back to her primary doctor, who ordered another X-ray to be read by a radiologist. When the doctor called me at home that night because the radiologist was extremely concerned by what he saw on her X-ray, I knew things were serious. I ended up having to take her to Augusta for surgery. It infuriates me that Dr. Hancock said she was healed - yeah, with bone growth in the wrong place which added to the complication of the surgery! Save your money and go to… another doctor!

this dr is one of the worst I have ever met. He spent 2 minutes with us, if that. We waited for hours to see him, after we made it to the back he rolled over to us looking more like a nurse than a dr. and said no since in us staying, the injury happened a month earlier and he would usually operate but his dad gave him tough love and told him to let it heal on it's own so he decided before we got there that he would impose his father's belief on my child. We have excellent insurance and have dealt with one of the other doctor's in the past from this office with excellence. But this hancock dr. is the worst! He said that he would normally operate but nah, not this time. and they sent me a huge bill for that visit. for what?! to walk to the back and be told that it would heal but would continue to hurt and may never heal properly but he did not think he would operate this time. My child is not able to hold anything tightly or shoot her bow or hit a ball with a bat. Thanks to him, we are… now going to another dr over 60 miles away to get a professional opinion. This is the worst visit ever!

Surgery itself went well, however, I am still experiencing pain every day. The original problem may have been corrected, however something (maybe even different) is still very wrong. Thinking of getting another opinion if things don't improve.
