Dr. Charles Adley Mangham, MD

He performed by stapedectomoy. So amazing, I can hear.

May be technically brilliant as an ear surgeon, but terrible bedside manner. Abruptly left in the middle of my post surgery treatment without warning and leaving me with hearing problems and many unanswered questions. Rushed all appointments, wouldn't let me ask questions, did not adequately explain anything, did not call when he said he would. When I think back about things he said when I first met him, I believe he knew before my surgery that he would be leaving in the Fall and he didn't warn me, Left me hanging with hearing problems and basically abandoned me. If he had been forthright in the beginning, I probably would have found a different ear surgeon.

Dr. Mangham has been treating me for over five years now, helping me with my difficult ear problems. He is not an overly gushy doctor, but he does care about his patients and is extremely capable and professional.

No matter how prestigious a doctor is, it is a noble calling and the first and foremost required of a doctor is that they care for the patient as a person not as a medical case or as $$$. This doctor had no smile, no greetings, no sympathy for me the first time I saw him. When he found out that I have already seen another specialist, all he cared about was that my insurance is not going to pay him and if I want treatment from him I will have to pay cash. He stressed it more than twice!! Well, I didn't tell him that we do have the means to pay cash, but I would not pay him no matter how good he is. I came from a family of doctors and they are all kind and compassionate, they treat their patients first and then worry about money later, many of them even treated poor that were not able to pay them. Dr. Mangham in my opinion is the opposite of what a noble doctor should be. I am surprised that he got elected as one of the top doctors in America.

Talented, cerebral, and thorough. Tough to get to loosen up. He is a highly articulate individual. I have enjoyed and appreciate his care. He has made a great change in my life as I have endured hearing and ear problems all my life. (over 55 years)He truly cares about his patients.
