Dr. Charles Thomas Mauro, MD

Dr Mauro has been treating my skin cancer issues for over twelve years. He is the best! I’ve been to all the other derms in Hilo, and there is no comparison. I wouldn’t be alive if I stayed with the other docs here in Hilo. He has removed so many skin cancers I’ve lost count. I highly recommend him and his excellent office staff. His nurses are top notch!

I want to praise Dr Mauro who has been my Dermatologist for many years. He is committed to his patients. He is an excellent surgeon. I feel so fortunate to Have him in Hilo, Hawaii because there are few choices for his specialty of treating Cancer.

He is an excellent doctor, although it takes forever to get an appointment. What I really don't like is that his nurse is in the room every time I go in. There are times when you want to speak to the doctor alone, or have a problem that you want to have looked at without other people in the room with you.

I have been a patient of Dr Mauro for 10 yrs.. Through the years the number of. People needing an appointment to the number of Doctors is overwhelming. i read in the Hilo paper there is a shortage of Doctors. We need to appreciate the Doctors we have. Dr. Mauro you are worth the wait.

I have seen this doctor 4 times. Each time his nursing staff is wonderful. The only person I have trouble with is the billing staff. She is very rough and to the point. I usually cannot get an appointment for over 2 weeks time. I also wait at least 15 minutes even though I am on time. But of all the Dermo. Doctors in Hilo he is the best and most up to date. He did a surgery on my face and the incision was 2 inches long. But as of 6 month after surgery there are no scars at all. He got all of the cancer. I wish the staff would be better about calling and doing annual follow ups.
