PLEASE PAY ATTENTION the dr. and medical staff are EXCELLENT however the receptionist for the lack of better words SUCKS... horrible.... most of them are lazy ...its a shame too i really like the medical staff. They over book patients and they don't notifty/ remind patients when they need to come in for a visit.. MOST OF THE RECEPTIONIST ARE NOT PROFESSIONAL!

This doctor didn’t even examine me. He took x-rays. He asked me to raise my arms. That’s it. When I asked for an MRI and expressed my concerns he said he can’t help me. He was rude & refused to answer any of my questions. When I suggested what my problem could be he said I don’t have certain symptoms or I have different ones therefore it can’t be what I was thinking. Not every patient has textbook symptoms. Every patient should be listened to. Every patient is an individual. This doctor was arrogant, dismissive and rude.

Dr. Mitgang was very friendly, knowledgeable and took time to not only get to know my medical history so he could offer me great care but also took time to know me as a person. His staff was very helpful and courteous. I will be his patient for many years.

Dr. Mitgang has always provided my family and myself with excellent compassionate care. He was my dad's physician as well as my mom's.

No Dr. is worth a three hour wait. Despicable staff that does not care about patients or return calls.

After meeting, he is arrogant, dismissive, you try to expalin something that is wrong with you, and he "says it is nothing." I do not think he cares about the patients. Did not like him and want to find a new Doctor!

Drs. Mitgang and Shakooi used to be good doctors. They are now more interested in the volume of patients, rather than caring for their patients and they are now mailing it in. They've hired Physicians Assistants who are now firdt examining the patients. On my last appointment the waiting room was empty. As a usual practice, I was asked for my co-payment before I entered the exam room. Upon entry to the exam room, the physicians assistant examined me, asked a few questions and wrote a prescription. She left the room. A moment later, she returned and said there was no need to see the doctor, since she "bumped" into him in the hallway and he concurred with the diagnosis. I was advised the doctor was very busy (remember the empty waiting Room) and I would have a 45 minute wait before the doctor could see me. Considering these doctors fees are among the highest on Long Island, they are not providing sub-par medical care to their patients. I paid this premium for a doctor, not a PA
