I was diagnoised with a Macular Hole in my left eye. I was recommended to Dr Newell. He was very considerate and kept me calm and told me that I had to have surgery right away. He was very thorough I had complete convidence in his abilities. I was awake during the whole procedure. He was professional and has a great personallty. I went, nervously, to Southern Vitreoretinal. Every person I came into contact with was kind and attentive. The procedure went well. I just wish they dispensed a Valium for the extremely nervous patients before an eye procedure.

I was blind before I met doctor Newell but he and his staff helped me to get a seeing eye dog and get a job. They set me up with the light house of the big bend. I see him once a year to monitor for complications, he is wonderfully honest, and he is so funny. I enjoy the once a year visits.
