She said it’s common practice for the doctor to look for something wrong during a well check and bill you for it if he can find anything without the parents asking about it or shows concern about it. Life threatening issue is understandable, but dry skin??!! This was scheduled as a well check to get shots but the doctor is money hungry and will find anyway to bill you. In this case a little dry skin on my daughters elbow, doctor said add lotion “duh!” That’s the advice he charged me $120 for. This places billing department is worse than a collection agency. Very small and cramped office. rooms are dark and dirt,… doctor doesn’t speak English. Go to cooks children’s across the street, or learn your lesson like I did* Went in for a well check to get 4 year old shots. My insurance covers all well check visits so it should have been free. I received a bill for $120, I called them to dispute it and they told me because the doctor pointed out my daughter has dry skin on her elbow they charged us for 15 minutes and billed it as contact dermatitis. If I asked the doctor about it or I was concerned about it thats one thing but he pointed the dry skin out and said put lotion on it and sent me a bill for it, I was never informed they’d bill Me for this, I did not ask about it and was never concerned about my daughters dry elbow skin. Haha. I argued with them and they told me to find another doctor. End of conversation. Very dishonest billing practices, if the doctor speaks to you, you’ll be charged for anything and all that he points out regardless of asking for their advice. Is this not insurance billing fraud? Both of my children saw Dr. O. He is an extraordinary diagnostician. My children seemed to catch everything that blew our way. He's really good with children and was able to calm my daughter's fears even during vaccinations.
