Dr Charles Ralph Simpson

I found a review describing Dr. Simpson as a doctor with extremely poor bed side manner and soft skills. I wish I found that review before I went to him because it's unfortunately a very accurate description. I went to Dr. Simpson for an implant on a front tooth and it failed TWO times. I don't know if it was incompetence on his part or just bad luck, but his personality, demeanor, and lack of concern during this year-long process made an already horrible experience a complete nightmare. I also asked the office if there is an option for a full or partial refund since I was not able to get a successful implant, and they told me they would have an office manager contact me. Months later, I still haven't heard back, and each time I call the office during normal business hours, I'm sent to their voicemail. I know they have caller ID because I've called to confirm appointments in the past without having to provide my name. I just wanted to share my horrible experience with Dr. Simpson and… his practice in general so you can make an informed decision while searching for an oral surgeon.

I think this doctor is great! He was very no-nonsense. Told me what I needed to hear (not what I WANTED to hear). Office staff is great, very willing to do whatever treatment you want within reason. Had to have a tooth extracted and implant done - all with IV sedation. Quick, pain controlled, great follow up care. Trustworthy doctor, in my opinion. Dentistry and medical procedures in general are not cheap. If you expect cheap service, you will get cheap care.

Big liar and a deceiver !! He told my spouse at the presby Plano ER that he would set up the ENT arranged at presby dallas ER ASAP, as there was no ENT at plano presby and he didn't deal with salivary glands infection.Before suggesting to go to Dallas ER, he had already changed his decision of the care plan 3-4 times. It clearly indicated to us that our instincts were to not go with this doctor in future. From planning to admit my husband in icu, to operating on him to sending to another hospital....every minute changing talks and opinion told us something. My spouse on reaching the dallas ER found out that there was no ENT available till next morning. The whole reason he went to dallas ER was because we trusted him with his own words. It feels like we have been abandoned by him and other non professionals like him, in times of greatest need. In times of COVID where I can't be with my husband, it is so scary to have doctors you cannot trust as they are just trying to protect… themselves from any liability. To top it all, he gave me the suggestion of staying at home comfartably while they try to decide what's best. I wish, he comes across his own family situation which makes him learn what it is like to have your near and dear one suffer through a health situation with helplessness of not being able to be there. He has no heart for it and is only there to make big bucks. A good doctor not only is medically sound but understands the helplessness of the patient and acts accordingly. God should also show you and your family members /loved ones what you showed us.

I made an appointment for a second opinion. I was advised of a $75 fee. I sent an email describing the situation along with x-rays. I arrived with my son on time for the appointment, but had to wait 10+ minutes before being called. The assistant was confused and had no clue why we came. I had to call my son's dentist who explained to the assistant the reason for the visit which ultimately was to discuss surgery options. The assistant whisked my son away to take a picture and returned minutes later. We then were told to wait for the dentist... after 20+ minutes I had to step out of the room to get the attention of someone... finally the dentist came and discussed the surgery and insurance options. When I got the bill I found that I had been charged $360 for a CAT scan (on top of the discussed $75 charge)!!! I brought my son to other dentists who all confirmed that a CAT scan was unnecessary, as well as the surgery (until my son was older).
