Dr. Charles Brooks Smith, MD

Dr Smith is very knowledgeable and an excellent doctor. He has been my physician for 6 years. He refers when needed. His bedside manner is compassionate and positive. I refer him to all my family and friends.

I have been seeing Dr Smith for over 20 years. Have been demoted to only seeing a PA the last few years. Each time they leave I get the newest one. Recently had to schedule a second appointment just to see the dr about what I felt were tests that didn’t need to be done. Then he and the PA both started scheduling tests and having nurses call me with results, lack of results. No one would take my call, having a nurse call me back to relay messages. I am changing doctors. It’s one thing to have a PA to help but there is no doctor follow up and apparently no communication between the staff.

I have been going to Dr. Smith for about 4 yrs. Over the past two yrs I am booked with a PA. I only see Dr. Smith on my yearly wellness visit. There are a couple of staff in the office that communicate well, but for the most part messages are either not relayed either to the PA / Dr. or you do not receive a return call leaving you floundering. Medication refills are a nightmare. I will look for new PCP.

Really like Dr Smith as my primary care doctor. If I can’t see him, he has excellent RNP or PAs so it’s never hard to get in.

2.5 years ago I told office staff I heard that Dr. Smith was wonderful. Was only able to see him 1 time. After that first time I never know who will walk into the treatment room. The wait for a treatment room is unreal long. It's like the office staff don't schedule enough time for each patient. Or Dr Smith wants as many patients as possible per day to pay for all the PA's he has on staff. The PA that will see you will most likely never know what why you are there...they do NOT use computers in the treatment room so they do not know your health history. When husband had some serious health issues, the PA's didn't know of or would try to find a specialist in FW or Dallas. Will be looking for a better Doctor's office.

In the past three years there has been numerous staff turnover, as relates to mid-level providers..I have been a patient for many many years..In my personal opinion in those last 3 years my care has gone from great to in my opinion poor..The office in the last 3-4 years has had so many policy changes I personally cannot keep up with said changes..In the last 3-4 years just as I adjusted to a new provider they were gone with someone else to take their place..I cannot in good faith tell people any longer this is the best place to go for primary care.. I personally will be looking for a new provider to handle my primary care..Keep in mind all this is strictly my opinion and personal experience..It will be very sad for me to close this chapter in my life as I once held this office in the highest esteem..

NEVER, going back, waited an hour in the waiting room. When I asked when I was going back they told me waiting for a room. After getting to the room was told did not have appointment. I have now found a new Dr., they asked for my records from Dr. Smith over 3 weeks ago and still no records have been sent! Love Dr. Smith and the lab lady, just cant deal with office staff.

Office is fine for routine exams. Anything else, ask to be referred to a specialist. When you are told where to go for other tests it would be a good idea to check with the facility to be sure Dr. Smith's office is sending you to the right place and has provided information about the test or procedure to the receiving facility. This can cost you quite a lot if the test or procedure has not been handled properly.

The thing I'll miss most about moving from Granbury is giving up this awesome Doctor. I'm 69 and he is the best doctor I have ever had!

Very easy to get an appointment..Very caring staff that are accommodating..This doctor has precision in diagnosis..The doctor and staff are down to earth..
