Dr. Charmaine Pamela A Lowe-Hoyte, MD

Dr. Lowe-haute is an excellent doctor. She listens to me and knows and understands where I am coming from.

I was at rock bottom with depression/anxiety. I met Dr. Lowe in the emergency of Pardee Hospital. She immediately knew the medications I needed. So thankful for Dr. Lowe.

She should have retired 20 years ago. I can't believe she's still practicing. Cares about $$$, not patients. Stay away!!

Not sure it's the same office though, I visit the one at NC Brookhaven. She has an ugly nosering sometimes and an attitude, and she basically called me a liar when I contradicted her on something that I know I was right on. As for Doctor Lowe-Hoyte herself, she is generally a nice woman. She does have a habit of looking at her notes, which doesn't bother me. What does bother me is being forced to step on a scale every time I come, she's the only psychiatrist I've seen since I started seeing them at 13 to weigh me. It just makes me feel fat. Also now there's a trouble with this medication I've been taking for 10 years perscribed by another doctor. I've been taking it the same way I've been taking it for 10 years with regular blood tests, and I've never had any issues until now. I was told to stop taking it and have another blood test in a few days, and while I did I had feelings of withdrawl. I'm very tempted to try to find another psychiatrist right now, but good… psychiatry in a rural area as this is very hard to find.

Dr. Lowe was very attentive, and as all psych doctors prescribes what they think will work. For mental health is tricky. But other than that she is good to talk too. The lady at the front was very busy and looks to be stretched to the max because the phones ring constantly and she has lots of paperwork, but she had a smile on her face and was friendly despite.The person who says that the front desk person is nasty is a liar. She wasnt nasty to me, maybe it was the attitude that you put out, she is only one person. I will keep my next appointment and take it for what it is because there are very little psychiatrists in the area and she is the only female that I could find.

Doesn't care about your well being. Just prescribes many medications. Yes she'll listen to all you have to talk about but doesn't address the problems. These problems however are common among Psych doc as they really don't know what the right treatments really are it's just guess work. Girl at front desk is often nasty, doesn't send in prescriptions or paperwork. Despite that Dr Lowe will tell you everybody loves her, yeah right.

A wonderful and caring doctor!

Dr. Lowe was very good at listening to me and my concerns. She was patient as I went on and on about my life and the symptoms that I was having. She was super at diagnosing me and the medications worked wonders. She is not one to just look at you and determine that you are just a hypochondriac or that you just want to whine and cry about your problems. She is very educated and is very accurate with her diagnosis. As I have talked to others who have gone to her. I will surely return to her and keep all of my follow up appointments. Her staff is very busy but she will give her all to get the job done and give you the attention that is required. I recommend this doctor to anyone who is having depression or mental issues, SHE IS THE BEST.

This doctor has gone down hill drastically over the years. I used to think she was my savior but now i feel she is the enemy. She continues to add medication after medication and then has a chip on her shoulder when you question anything or have any medical knowledge. i was on a total of 18 meds. (pharmaceutical kickbacks probably) and know thru a new doctor am on 3 and feel better than in years. call backs are non existent. front desk blames her, she blames front desk. med refills and paper work are NOT done timely usual time 3 weeks or more. Patient healing is NOT # 1 money is her driving force!!! proceed with caution
