Dr. Chava Shefer, MD

I only came here for my annual because I forgot to change doctors. I left after waiting for 1.5 hours with no update. I agree with all the other commenters about her cold bedside manner, and the staff is no better. There are so many good doctors in New York. She is not one of them, at least as far as patient experience goes.

The worst bedside manner of any gyn I've experienced. I dread seeing her.

I love her. I always felt taken care of. She is very down to earth and approachable. She answers all questions, and is very thorough. I've been using her for years.

The staff you hired is horrific. I cannot even get to you to rate your skill. Though others have and you pay no heed. Understand that your rude and terribly inefficient staff is a reflection of you as you are their boss. For that reason, without ever seeing you, though I tried, you simply CANNOT be recommended for anything. Being in the medical field I know what is possible. Nothing about possible is provided by your staff.

Dr Shefer (formally Shapiro) is an excellent Dr! I had two high risk pregnancies and Dr. Shefer took the time to explain everything in detail to me and was available for questions if I ever had any. She properly sent me to the best Doctors in support of my medical condition and followed up with both the Doctors and myself to ensure that I received the appropriate care. I delivered twice at 36 weeks and she was there the entire time! Many of my friends complained about other ob/gyns where they see multiple Doctors. Not here, Dr. Shefer is very personable and attentive to her patient's needs. Con - the office wait is insane unless you are one of the first patients for the day. I think the office staff doesn't think forward about scheduling and schedule way to many people at one time.
