She unfortunately was on call when I called 15 minutes after my doctors office closed. I have endometriosis — if you don’t know it is super painful at times. I have a very high pain tolerance but unfortunately was going through an endometriosis flare up. My doctor was not in the office most the week so I wasn’t able to get a refill on my pain medication ( which was okay because I had a few pills but wanted to make sure I had enough because with this pain you never know when it’s going to cause problems) when I called a week prior. I didn’t want to go the weekend (since it was Friday when I unfortunately had the pleasure of speaking to Dr Hamlin). She was SOOO incredibly rude when I was attempting to explain my problem to her. She of course treated me like I was drug seeking. Which I do NOT have a problem with drugs just simply needed a refill because I had 3 pain pills left. I understand the epidemic we are in but when people actually need the medication and don’t abuse it — if she… looked in my chart she would have seen the last time I had a refill was over 3 months ago on the pain medication. So if she knew anything about addiction then she would know that if I was someone with a habit then that pain medication would have been gone a long time ago. I was so frustrated dealing with my doctors office then to be treated like I’m a drug addict while being in pain and had been in pain all week just really didn’t help matters at all. I plan on letting my doctor know how terrible she was. If I ever have to deal with her again I would probably just suffer in pain and wait until someone else was on call than deal with her or go to a different hospital for the emergency than deal with her. Save yourself the heartache. Dr Mackenzie is the best if you need a doctor who is thorough and cares about his patients. Hope this review helps!

She was the OB on shift when I was first admitted during my labor. Very poor bedside manners. Threatened to kick me out of L&D when I initially refused pitocin. Asked about the risks of pitocin for a vbac and her first answer was, top reasons babies die during delivery are due to bacteria exposure. Way to encourage a vulnerable lady in labor. So rude!

I wanted to put out this review before actually seeing Dr. Hamlin because the extend of lack of professionalism in MAKING an appointment was beyond words. They canceled the appointment THREE TIMES when my daughter was a great need to be seen. After the third time I decided enough was enough so I found another doctor at Brigham & Women's, should have done it in the first place. It is appalling to see such mismanagement of patients passing as acceptable. I did call them to let them know about how we were treated and also asked them to pass on this information to their manager. Not sure they will do it but hopefully this review will give you a glimpse into that side of this office.

She could use some more education. Can't really pin point an average female infection. Rushes to surgery rather then seeking alternatives. Nice but needs work.
