Dr. Cheryl Lee Smith, DO

Before I moved out of state. I was one of the first patients when she was in Flatrock. She is the most amazing doctor and really cares for her patients. I highly recommend her

I have been a patient of Dr. Smith's for several years now. Wait time is minimal, she is thorough, gives her undivided attention and is open to hearing from me as a patient. I have the utmost confidence in her and plan for her to coordinate my medical needs for years to come.

I've been her patient for years, but since she moved to the hospital office it is not the same. It used to feel more personal, like speaking with a friend, and the staff KNEW who I was. Now they aren't even friendly. Also, it normally requires 6 weeks for an appointment and the wait in the room is way too long,

I've been going to Dr. Smith for a few years now and am consistently impressed with her willingness to discuss issues with me, as well as her kindness and accurate diagnoses.

My family has been going to Dr. Smith for 8 years now. Everyone loves her. I have 9 family members seeing her. She is kind, compassionate, caring and reminds me of an old fashioned dr that would do housecalls. The only issue has been the front desk since she has moved to the Henry Ford building. They suck. I miss the old staff but Dr. Smith is the same as ever. You will not regret seeing her.

Dr. Smith is a very personable, caring physician who is probably the best Doctor I have ever had. However I cannot give the same praise to the front end staff who seem to me very inexperienced and more interested in keeping people in line than anything else. However once you are back in an examination room the care is excellent.

Dr. Smith caught both my Leukemia and Prostate cancers at very early stages. She sent me to outstanding specialists. Now the leukemia is in remission and my PSA numbers are ~1 down from 7 as a result of diet. She is a caring physician who knows her patients well, and follows up with them.

Her explanations are detailed and reveal a thorough understanding of her field and respect for the patient. I really appreciate her for this reason. She provides alternatives when appropriate, and is very attentive when discussing anything with a patient.

Dr. Smith is nice but she always seems in a hurry. It takes at least a week to get in when I have been sick. When I needed more of my medicine it took over a month. I have been going to Dr. Smith for years but am disappointed. Now that her office is in the hospital it feels like she no longer has time for me and my family. They always seem to either be short-handed or just hired someone new. I call and am put on hold for what seems like forever (usually 5-10 minutes). They have called in the wrong medicine for me more than once. When my kids are sick & I couldn't get in, they said well there's always urgent care if you can't be flexible. I'm switching to a new doctor as soon as I can. I miss the Dr. Smith I used to bring my family to.

Dr. Smith used to make me think of the "family doctor" I had as a kid. Now she is very busy & I can barely get in. And when I do there is always a wait. She is very nice but seems different now. Changes office staff a lot. I've voiced my concerns to her but she just said there's not much she can do because Henry Ford hospital is the boss now. It took almost a month just to get xray results. Everytime I called I was told it was on her desk but she was too busy with patients to read it. I called again a week later and was told they never received it. Not sure why I got different stories. I miss the old Dr. Smith!
