Dr. Chevies Wayne Newman, MD

If you are LGBT do not go to him. He is mysoginistic, does not trust women to take control of their own health care decisions and will treat you like a second class citizen. It is our job in healthcare to provide a judgment free safe environment for all people and I did not receive that here.

Been going to newman for years ,he delivered my 1st daughter 5yrs ago and currently he will be delivering my son in a few weeks ?? He is a awesome man

I have had several procedures at Dr. Newman neighboring hospital Lakeview and after being advised I will receive results in 2 days and have not. Each time I have had to call up to two weeks later to receive results. Totally unacceptable. He is a great doctor however someone should be in charge of making sure patients are informed of critical test results.

I was going to this doctor and was very happy. Last appointment he didn't read my lab results. I asked and he didn't know. We had discussed some issues that needed to be looked into and I guess he didn't take notes in the last appointment because he didn't remember or could go back to the chart and check. Not going back...

Dr. Newman was the on-call Dr. when I needed emergency care with my first pregnancy. He was accepting new patients, and I definitely needed a new. Gave him a try, and I didn't regret it! Exceptional prenatal care! When I went into labor and went to the hospital, when the nurses hooked me up I was the first to realize my child's heartbeat was dropping. Nurses immediately called Dr. Newman and started prepping me for surgery/delivery. Dr. Newman had made it there in less than 5 minutes it seemed, and as soon ad he talked to me and reassured everything was ok I finally calmed down. When I woke up from the emergency delivery, Dr. Newman told me my daughter belongs in medical journalsbc it truly was a miracle. The nurses constantly would tell me how Dr. Newman did an awesome job under pressure at saving her life. Went to a different Dr. with my second pregnancy, and I honestly feel that her death was bc of the Dr.'s neglect. He didn't even make it to the hospital when I went into… labor. Well, I am pregnant again, and I refuse to trust anybody else with my babies health and life!!

Dr. Newman came highly recommended by a colleague of mine. So, I decided to call him. Strike one: Called to make appt, no one answered so I left my info at the beginning and end of my voice message to be thorough. Didn't hear anything back for 8 days, so decided to walk in to make appointment. Strike two: I walked in to schedule my appointment and the personnel took an hour and 15 minutes to acknowledge me. Strike three: Got a confirmation call, with a request to show up 15 minutes early. Was the first patient in the facility and waited 45 minutes before I had to cancel my appointment. Never met the Dr. I am usually in the habit of giving people the benefit of a doubt, but I am miffed at all three of my experiences with this establishment.My appointment process was poor.My wait time was excessive.Service was not prompt/courteous.I did not see my physician. For these reasons, I would give the facility less than a one-star rating if I could. I hope you have a different… experience.

I have been a patient of Dr. Newman's for many years. I recently brought my daughter to see him. His manner with her was very thoughtful as well as educational. He and his nurse had a comfortable nature so that she felt at ease during her visit and conversation. I would highly recommend him for anyone looking for a new doctor for themselves or their daughter.

Dr. Newman and his staff are great. He is a good listener and has great bedside manner. New office is nice. 3D-4D ultrasound in his office. I highly recommend him!

I have been seeing Dr. Newman since he was with Ochsner and he delivered my children. Great Doctor and Surgeon. Had an ablation recently and feel so much better now. Recovery easy. He helped me take care of my problem with out having to have a hysterectomy, which I did not want. Definitely listened to my needs. Office and staff very nice. New location is very convenient.
