Dr. Chi Yuen Lam, MD

Lam has poor bedside manners, is sarcastic, and is insensitive to the patient's needs. He was the attending physician for my dad at a hospital - he disregarded my dad's symptoms and discharged him when he was not ready to go home. Now we're back at the hospital again... I spoke to him once and asked general questions. He just kept saying "I don't know, I don't know. I need to go home and read up." If you're a doctor with 35+ years of experience, you should know... something at the very least. If you have no health insurance and are forced to see him, don't even bother. His office never picks up the phone, you have to leave a voicemail and they will charge you $200 as a up-front consultation fee. Ripping off the poor and sick... NO THANK YOU.

He did not perform a thorough biopsy procedure. The result was inconclusive so my mom had to repeat another biopsy procedure. This doctor has a very rude bed side manner. And he's not sensitive to patients' feeling and needs. He offer no comforting words and only rejected gestures. Never ever go back to seek his service.

He is a very busy doctor. He spent most of the time in 4 local hospitals. As a critical care physician, he works with primary care physicians for consultations. He does not spend much time in office to treat patients who are not so sick, and that makes it hard to get an appointment. After seeing a very rude doctor at USC and a very nice doctor who was not able to treat me. This doctor gave me correct diagnosis and treatment. I wasted 2 years seeing other doctors before I found Dr Lam. I told my friends that they should avoid doctors who are young and have limited experience. They should also avoid doctors who are not busy and have too much time for each patient.
