Dr. Christie Lynn Masters, MD

I don’t know how on earth Masters is permitted to work with patients. I was admitted to Torrance Memorial Hospital with an illness and had to deal with this lady. She is by far the worst I’ve ever dealt with. She has the attention span of a five-year-old. Just outright, rude, disrespectful, condescending, and impatient. It’s shocking that she’s permitted to work with patients who rely on doctors. She has the personality of a witch. She should be working in a warehouse far away from people. A total disgrace to the medical profession. The one star rating is being very generous.

Worst doctor ever! Believe the reviews. I don't want to take the effort to write a thorough review since she doesn't deserve my time, nor effort. She needs to find another profession! When you are rude, cold, condescending, and dismissive to your patients, you need to get out. If she shows up as your hospitalist, you NEED to ask for another doctor!

Ask for another hospitalist if you are assigned to her. She is the worst doctor I have ever dealt with. She is condescending and uncaring. We left UCLA Health because of the horrible care I received dealing with her.

I wish I was exaggerating when I say that Dr. Masters completely lacks empathy and compassion with her patients and their families. Every question you ask is a true imposition and her approach is so obnoxiously patronizing that you really wonder how she can possibly be employed. Torrance Memorial is a wonderful hospital but if you are a UCLA patient, I would stay far away as you are stuck with Dr. Masters. I hope one day Dr. Masters will realize that dealing with the physical ailments of a patient is only half the battle... you must help heal and calm their mental state as well... and, she has to learn that she is there to serve the patients and their families, not the other way around!

Dr. Masters is one of the worst physicians I have ever met - her bedside manner is atrocious as she speaks to as though you are a child and makes you feel that every question is an imposition. She chose the absolute worst course of action for my care and would never listen to any specialist’s advice. I am telling you, because of her, stay away from Torrance Memorial Hospital as she could do more harm than good.

I would have to say she is by far the worst dr. I have met my entire life. Dr. Masters is a hospitist at Torrance Memorial Medical Center. I want to clarify that my experience with the Torrance Memorial Medical Center doctors, nurses, and staff was great. I love this hospital. Everyone makes you feel comfortable and at ease, except for doctor Masters. Her poor bedside manners and icy demeanor was just the beginning of my horrible experience with this doctor. The first time I met her was two days prior to my discharge from the hospital. She was covering for another doctor. She has a cold and icy glare. During that time she did most of the talking and didn't allow me to voice my questions and concerns. I had never come across a doctor so insensitive to the patient's pain. The whole experience was strange. You would think she would be more caring and understanding of a patient in pain. When she left I was just releaved that she was gone. I remember wishing that it was my last encounter… with her and that she was covering for the doctor only that one day. But, she was back the next day. "Oh No. Not her" was my first thought. She came in with the same icky glare that you only see in scary movies. It seemed as if she had no emotions or any compassion for the people around her. The same thing was repeated. Two min of her talking and then bad experience with the check up. Throughout the years I have seen many doctors for my Crohn's Disease. Non of whom checked me in this manner. But her bedside manner was only the beginning of this doctor's unprofessional ways. She also lied.. I had my gastrointestinal doctor and my pain management doctor visit me earlier that day. Both of whom agreed that if I was ready to be released. Dr. Masters told me that if I could stop using any of my meds through the IV and just take them orally, which I did, that I could be released that night, I even asked her when was the latest I could be discharged she replied with, "I don't know, anytime, I guess". So I stayed a few more hours and rested, then I got up and packed my belongings and waited to be released. The nurse came into my room saying she won't release you until tomorrow. I was shocked. Dr. Masters had blatantly lied to me. I asked the nurse to call the doctor and put her on speaker phone so that I have evidence of what she will say to me over the phone. I didn't trust this doctor anymore. She would probably lie about our phone conversation too. So the nurse stayed in the room while I put the doctor on speaker phone. She had also lied about me to the nurses that I had a prior AMA (Against Medical Advice) from this hospital, which when I asked her why she told the nurses that since it wasn't true. She replied, "Well, I made a mistake on the notes". Wow! Very unprofessional. She stated screaming at me over the phone and told me if I interrupt her that she would hang up the phone in me. So, I waited for her to stop yelling. Then I asked her if she was done talking, so that I could talk. She said, " I will answer one question and then I'm hanging up". Mind you the nurse is hearing all of this, but I don't think the doctor realized she was on speaker phone. So, I asked her when was the earliest I could leave, since it's my son's first day of school tomorrow I would like to be out by then. She said, maybe tomorrow. Then the nurse said I think she hung up the phone on you. The stress this doctor caused me made my Crohn's worse. She doesn't care about her patients. It is very apparent that she is mentality ill and that she shouldn't be practicing medicine. I have since filled a compliant to the hospital supervisor.

Bully! She tried to have patient committed to hospice care instead of palliative care. Hospice care is affiliated with hospital she works at. Conflict of Interest. DONT TRUST HER
