Christina Hoang is a pediatrician with a special interest in preventive medicine and healthy lifestyles.

“I want to help my patients have a better understanding of their medical conditions and have access to the resources they need to live healthier lives,” she said.

Becoming a mother had a huge impact on Dr. Hoang’s medical career by giving her a sense of solidarity with other parents.

“When I had my first baby, I gained a newfound appreciation for parents as my husband and I learned how to console a newborn, feed a baby - whether by breastfeeding or bottle feeding - and sleep training,” she said. “As a pediatrician, I want to work alongside parents to provide the best care for their children, as newborns and as they grow.”

A great relationship with patients is an important aspect of Dr. Hoang’s practice. She encourages open and direct communication between herself, patients and their families.

“I hope this will help patients and their families feel comfortable and empowered to talk …about anything that concerns them,” she said.

Dr. Hoang was born and raised in San Jose, California. She studied biochemistry and molecular biology at the University of California, Davis. She earned her medical degree at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona. She and her husband moved to Tucson in 2016, where she completed a three-year pediatric residency.
