Dr. Christina Mowkay Hui, MD

This doctor claims to know her practice. She does not. I was a monthly to bi-monthly patient of hers for about 3 or so years in a total period of five years of psychiatry related rehabilitation and was prescribed a psychiatric medication for a form of mental illness I had had. This medication without given any proper warning of the potential side effects it can cause (during the whole duration of service I may address) gave me a sinus heart arrythmia I had to be admitted to the emergency room for back in early 2020. It left me disabled for a year with episodic bouts of heart arrythmias for the year. I have since been properly treated, and my health improved but as a result I have a benign heart condition along with chronic muscle spasticity (muscle stiffness) along with daily burning sensations in various areas. I have stiffness in the neck, back, abdomen, and lower abdomen/solar plexus, upper chest and other areas which is a daily issue to live with now. It has caused a weight loss… (it difficult to maintain my used to be normal weight and have had poorer quality sleep ever since as a result. This doctor is inept in her practice in medication prescription and is inept in this aspect of practice itself with, myself being a testament case example. I now live with a form of disability. I do not recommend being an outpatient of hers.

Medication Management only. Not helpful. If you need some help, it takes her forever to answer. Wants to argue with you and doesn't believe what you say.

I think that Dr. Hui and I were a mismatch from day one. I said some things that were harsh but I also think she is not very warm. Yes I fired her. I didn't like her assessment of me. The very first time I spoke to her she evaluated me. I was just trying to process a separation from my previous psychiatrist after 26 years and a lot was going with that and I guess I felt into a huge funk and depression and it passed. The one thing that Dr Hui did not understand after reading another review where she said I wasn't going to tell her how she should do an evaluation. I don't think that is where I was coming from. I was trying to say that I couldn't believe she evaluated me after just meeting me and felt the she said things that weren't accurate. I feel branded. Again, when writing her I was really angry and I don't usually do that but the chemistry between her and me was not good. I own what I said and I am not sure that she owned what she said entirely.

Listens and doesn't help you solve anything. Medication management only.

Dr Christina Hui is a very competent, compassionate and intelligent psychiatrist. She listens carefully and provides great guidance. I wholeheartedly recommend her!

Mean spirited, cold and insulting. One of the meanest persons I ever met. Not professional at all.I hope to never see her again!

Not excellent but outstanding

One of the best doctors I have ever been treated by. She cares and follows up plus makes you feel that she takes your health as seriously as you do.
