Dr. Christina Marie Shamas, MD

Dr. Shamas and her staff are wonderful !!! The staff could not have been any nicer. They were very professional and courteous. I was seen on time. Dr. Shamas is an incredibly warm and caring person who is easy to talk with. She made me feel very comfortable and really took a lot of time to listened to my issues. She is very knowledgeable and made me feel at ease during my visit . From the time I made my appointment to the moment I sat down with Dr. Shamas everyone was great. I would highly recommend her! Dr. Shamas is an Awesome and knowledgeable doctor with great communicate skills.!!!

The exam was painful for me. The staff and doctor herself did not seem caring or really wanting to listen to me.

Dr. Shamas took the time to interview me herself, as a new patient, rather than having a staff member do it. She answered all of my questions and was knowledgeable about the latest research. She had my medical information in mind when recommending treatment. She was professional and courteous and knowledgeable. I recommend her to anyone seeking an ob/gyn.

My first visit and last....I have been to many doctors in my life, just refuse to go back twice if I didn't feel any empathy from them!

Dr. Shamas performed an emergency surgery while I was in the ER. From the moment I met her she put me at ease. She explained the surgery, answered our questions, and kept my family informed. My surgery was very successful and she took her time during my follow up visits even though I was running late. She is a very skilled doctor, she cares about her patients. I highly recommend using her if you are looking for a great OB GYN.

Dr. Shamas did take time to review my medical history, but that was the only positive. She was sarcastic and shaming towards me several times (I really didn't think doctors like this existed anymore -ridiculing and smirking at their patients - it was like a cliche). The physical exam was physically painful - it lasted only minutes but she pushed and shoved so hard I couldn't tell if it was my pain or the pain of her examination - I felt like a punching bag. She never explained what she was doing and I didn't have time to ask. The whole experience was AWFUL. I would not recommend anyone to go to Dr. Shamas. In my opinion, any doctor who clearly has this much contempt for their patients should not be practicing.

Dr. is good and mildly friendly. She is not great about prescriptions. This is probably due to inability to diagnose condition, or possibly due to being dedicated to only certain medications. She seems to only be interested in money, since a different appointment is required for each thing that is needed, regardless of how minor the problem is.(The insurance company does not require this.) In addition to that, one must make an appointment for a refill on a prescription. (in my opinion, so that the insurance company must pay for unnecessary visits, as well as the patient paying unnecessary co-pays.) I think Dr. should record and randomly check conversations that occur on the office phone. Her office staff is almost always rude and condescending, not at all accommodating. (They are also rude in person) It has taken quite a long time to get appointments, every time.
