Dr. Christine Louise Cambridge, MD

Dr. Cambridge seemed nice at the beginning of my first appointment with her but that facade quickly faded when I needed more help than she deemed me worthy of. I had been in the ER two nights prior with an ovarian cyst the size of a peach which has had me dealing with excruciating pain for the past 4 weeks and had led to a misdiagnosis of diverticulitis due to it's severity. I came with a fresh CT showing how significant my issue was and asked for surgery ASAP. While she agreed to the surgery, I kept asking about how soon I could get the surgery and she was vague in her answers and kept deflecting. When pressed harder she finally said that "it is not urgent" and it wouldn't be for WEEKS. I asked if she was going to help me manage the pain in the interim and she flat out said NO, that pain medications are only for post surgery. I was appalled at her lack of compassion. I immediately got a second opinion and have a pre-op appointment today with a doctor who actually cares about patients

She misdiagnosed me with gestational diabetes and would not admit to her error. I sought the opinion of a different OB/GYN who confirmed my suspicions and frustrations. My blood sugars are totally 100% normal and yet I was still put on the Sweet Success program despite two nutritionists wondering why I was even there. She based her diagnosis off of only one number after testing me for diabetes at only 15 weeks. This is my first pregnancy with no previous history of anything. My A1C Hemoglobin tests came back totally normal, as did my 2 hour and 3 hour tests. The only one that came back high was my fasting which was 95mg/dL and they want you at 91 or lower... But the week before I had been sick and was craving orange juice and honey like a mad woman. When I told her this was the likely culprit she flat out said that that wouldn't cause a spike in blood sugar! I told this to my nutritionist who laughed and said that it absolutely would! I went along with it for a month not changing a… darn thing except cutting out orange juice and my average fasting sugar for 50 days was only 81.2 mg/dL! I'm not diabetic and Dr. Cambridge not only wouldn't change the diagnosis, but she still wanted me to continue testing like I was! Bottom line, she doesn't listen to you or any research you may have done (I read everything I could get my hands on GD) and she was very condescending toward what I had to say, despite my words and thoughts being backed up by other health professionals. She also won't admit to being wrong despite the overwhelming evidence. This is my first pregnancy and I have never been so frustrated or scared in my life. She never once offered any reassurances in all of this, only horror stories and worse case scenarios based off of statistics.

Worst appointment of my life. I went in after a positive home pregnancy test and having not had a cycle in ten weeks. She began an ultrasound but when her assistant came in and told her that my urine test came back negative for pregnancy, Dr. Cambridge stopped the ultrasound and said, "Well, that solves that...you're not pregnant." I was absolutely gutted. She then proceeded to berate me for my weight and tell me that I should not even be considering having a baby given that I am at such an "unhealthy starting point". I have PCOS and had recently lost 30 pounds, so her comments were incredibly hurtful to hear after all of my hard work. She did not offer a blood test to confirm whether I was pregnant or not, nor did she give me any explanation as to why I got a positive pregnancy test and why I hadn't had a cycle in ten weeks. She offered to run a blood test for cholesterol and glucose, which I declined since I had just been checked for those by my GP. I left her office in tears, with… no answers and will now be seeking a more compassionate and competent OBGYN who doesn't judge me based solely on a number on a scale. If you're looking for understanding, compassion or someone who genuinely cares about what's happening to your body, do not go to Christine Cambridge.

I had this Dr for quite a few years and she is a great Dr.
