Dr. Christopher Haekang Chay, MD

Dr. Chay always seeks the latest medical and technological advances for the benefit of his patients. He is regarded for his modern approach that utilizes the most successful treatment models. Though he works in a fast-paced environment and employs advanced techniques, he never rushes his patients. Older patients, in particular, appreciate the time Dr. Chay spends explaining treatment plans and answering questions. Dr. Chay joined the Cancer Care of WNC staff in August 2002. He is Board Certified in Hematology and Oncology, and is the Chief Investigator for our Clinical Trials Department. Dr. Chay is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He attended medical school at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency there as well. He chose the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, for his Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology. Dr. Chay’s wife is also a physician, and she specializes in Internal Medicine. They have two …young children, and he enjoys every moment of being a great dad. Rare moments of free time will find him conducting research on his computer.
