Dr. Christopher Howard Lane, PhD

Lane was selected, and financed, by my ex for reunification therapy with my children. Throughout a toxic legal battle, I was worried that Lane would represent my ex in court who was claiming alienation (based on previous reviews). However, through out the year of treatment, Lane provided me with information about my children, their concerns, and heard mine. I genuinely think that he was selected by my ex based on reviews and with hopes that Lane would state alienation. He did not. In fact, Lane shared that he saw no benefit to the parenting style of my ex and that the children did not respond to it. He expressed concern that my ex showed no interest in co-parenting despite his attempts to include me in therapy. He then signed a witness testimony stating such in addition to his observations of my ex belittling and demeaning me in front of the children. My ex terminated him immediately following. I hope this eases the mind of my fellow protective Mommas in the same situation.

In the mid-1990's, when I was making $176k, Chris Lane deemed me basically so scattered as to be unable to even balance my own checkbook. Certainly not fit to be primary custodial parent. This was during a protracted custody battle in Prince William County, Virginia where the Court sent out for Chris Lane (who is in Fairfax County). I hired my own experts and they had me mail the questionnaires to independent practices to have those assess the answers against the DSM V. Every one of them was counter to Chris Lane's findings, which, by the way, he made after instructing me to answer in #2 pencil and put my penciled-in papers on the top shelf of his closet in the room he had me in while I completed the questionnaires. With independent experts, a new attorney, and after threatening to change venue to Fairfax County from Prince William County, I was granted sole custody. Epilogue 2022: my son is now 30-years old, went to college (and tech school), and has a family of his own. His… lifelong interactions with his father are his anecdotes to share. MANY MANY women who went through the same thing I did left Google reviews nowadays. It's likely that, like me, they could not get authorities to pay attention when they were set-up by this guy. And there was no class action lawsuit going on against him. I did not lose my case, so I have no grounds for a lawsuit, is what I was told. I am a real person (not a bot) and I digitized copies of my court papers, plus the final disposition is public record in Prince William County, Virginia. This is not hearsay, this is FIRST PERSON ACCOUNT of events, relayed 25(ish) years after Chris Lane did what he did to me and almost did to my son by suggesting he should be under his father's control while still a minor.

This man should have his license removed. A liar, neglectful, sexist, and a misogynist, and enables abusers to keep abusing. I think this washington post article on him from 2017 says it all. Stay away from this man if you love your children.

I saw Dr. Lane a few years ago for about 2 years. I brought myself to the table, hoping to make changes to my life and with my family to grow and enjoy life more. Dr. Lane broke the code of ethics by constantly trying to encourage me to abandon my faith in God. Every session, he couldnt remember where we left off and had no idea what we were going to discuss for the next session. He frequently asked me what happened, even seemingly dozing off during sessions. Dr. Lane was such a terrible therapist that he inspired me to go to college and become the therapist i needed so badly.

Dr. Lane actually cares, unlike many who self-promote their names. Empathetic and Smart.

Dr Lane worked for over 2 years with my grandson, giving up hours of clinical time to be with me at the courthouse helping save my grandchild from his abuser. Years after we stopped regular sessions , I still took DJ back for reinforcements and often ran into Dr Lane at the courthouse and he was NEVER to busy to ask how we were.

He is unprofessional and a sexist.
