Dr. Christopher Gene Larsen, MD

Before Dr Larsen implanted the Inspire Sleep Device in me, I struggled with CPAP therapy. Immediately after Dr Larsen's surgery at KU Medical Center I experienced slurred speech, a crooked mouth / smile, drooling, numbness of my face, complete loss of feeling directly above his incision and paralysis of the side of my tongue. The side the device was implanted on. 14 months later the forementioned symptoms persisted but Dr. Larsen insisted that we attempt to activate the device. The power was turned up and the device failed to work as it was supposed to. My face and neck immediately swelled up. 26 months later all of the forementioned symptoms still persist along with the swelling. The device still has not been activated. The manufacturer is aware and doesn't seem to care. Larsen doesn't seem to care. He got paid. 26 months later and counting I still struggle with cpap but that pales in comparison to the frustration and pure mental anguish I now deal with every day.

Arrant behavior, arrogant, unprofessional.

This was my first (and maybe only) visit to Dr. Larsen, but I was impressed. No unnecessary tests or procedures. No nonsense. He was pleasant and took time with me. If I need to go back in the future, I certainly will.

Dr Larson spent 1 minute at our appointment. He didn’t look in my ears and that’s why I was there, ordered a medication he didn’t tell me about until I received a call from the pharmacy and was extremely pompous. His bedside manner is one of the worst I’ve encountered and I’ll never go back and suggest others not go to him either.

Had a rude 5 minute appointment. Was rushed out, he acted like I was crazy. Had zero bedside manner. I would leave no Stars if I could. I have seen ENT Doctors before at KU before and never a problem until this Dr. Don't waist your time or money

Dr Larsen was a major disappointment. He is extremely condescending and impatient. As I have dealt with sinus issues for MANY YEARS, you begin to figure some things out and can associate some triggers. Dr Larsen was unwilling to listen to my trial and error experiences AND was closed minded. He was not open to suggestions when I just want to get a handle on this situation. . He was very much a jerk and I was frustrated I had to pay $$$ to be spoken to that way.

I have had two major procedures at two different times with Dr. Larsen. He was able to professionally diagnose and treat both problems in an exceptional manner. I would recommend him highly.

I would recommend Dr. Larsen to anyone needing an ENT. He was great with my daughter when he took her tonsils out. I thought he had great bedside manners. Very wonderful to talk to.

We had a WONDERFUL experience with Dr. Larsen. He was compassionate and most importantly, fixed my severe sinus problem. He answered all of my questions and made sure his office staff took good care of us. We returned to have our kids tonsil surgery done by Dr. Larsen and had the same wonderful care.
