Dr. Christopher Yuyen Lau, MD

I asked him about an issue where my hands were tingling and numb when sleeping on my side, suggesting physical therapy. He said there was nothing they or anyone could do about it. Months later, I asked another doctor for a second opinion, and she was amazed he said that. She said I clearly had carpal tunnel, and prescribed simple exercises and splints. Just wearing the splints alone stopped the issue immediately, showing he had been completely wrong. I am so glad I asked a better doctor later.

Dr. Lau was condescending and dismissive when discussing my health concerns. I was suffering from gout flares and kidney stones...I was wondering if there was a relationship and he shut me down quick. He suggesting that since I wasn't a doctor I wasn't qualified to have such theories Right or wrong his bedside manner led me to change PCP. My new PCP, a more exposition dr. and with a degree from a med school I heard of (not like Dr Lau) actually agreed with my theory and prescribed allopurinol (gout med). Results? No gout, but more importantly no kidney stones.

Sadly worst doctor I have encountered at Kaiser. Have been a Kaiser patient and a clinician at Kaiser for over 20 years. He did not listen, was very rude and demeaning, not helpful at all. Additionally, he gave incorrect information. Kaiser- you can do much better.

Zero patience and rude. Sounds like he just wants to end the appointment as soon as possible. He doesn't like to listen to what the patients say about their symptoms and just keeps saying what he thinks is right. Worst doctor I've seen at Kaiser as far.

he always figuratively has one foot out the door when he sees me for check ups. pretty much never listens to what i have to say about when i feel good or bad. he wants to do things his way no matter what my preference is (don't like to take painkillers because they affect me, etc) and keeps talking about what he wants me to do even when i keep saying no thanks. just a bad listener.

Extremely happy with experience of Dr. Lao bypassing heart to perform valve and aorta replacements/repairs. Total confidence in this surgeon and his ability to say my life.

I got blood work done and i never got a call from him with my results. I have tried calling him myself several times and i have left several messages and I have yet to receive a call back from this doctor. His bedside manner is horrible. I will NOT return to Dr. Lau. He did not provide me with the care that i deserve.
