I am a self-proclaimed research and data analytics maven! For the ESG procedure I researched the good, bad, ugly, and pros/cons for months. My options were to have the procedure done in Atlanta, Houston or my area - Cary, NC. I choose Dr. McGowan in Cary, NC at True You Weight Loss. I will admit that the Atlanta and Houston doctors were a little cheaper, as they were running specials; however, one cannot put a price on quality, kindness, and care. With Dr. McGowan and his team, I felt an instant connection. Everyone was so personable, professional and genuinely cared about my questions, concerns and results. The actual procedure was a breeze and the follow-up care and appointments have been informative and helpful. In the first week after the procedure, 5 days exactly, I lost 16 lbs. Dr. McGowan and Laura (Nutritionist) give me guidance on what is working and give accolades when recognizing my achievements. Laura also suggests alternative things to eat instead of pointing out… what I can’t have, which is helpful and makes this whole process less restrictive. Ultimately, the ESG procedure will change your life for the best and it is best to align with a team that is championing your success like the True You Weight Loss team.

Dr. McGowan and his staff are absolutely AMAZING! So many times, visiting the doctor can feel cold and disconnected. The experience I had at his practice was the exact opposite. Leading up to my procedure, during, and now post-procedure, the communication and level of support have exceeded my expectations.

Dr. McGowan is incredibly positive, calm, friendly and highly skilled. Highest recommendation! I flew in from out of town for my ESG procedure. It went amazingly smooth and I have never felt better in my life. Dr. McGowan has continued to call me monthly with encouragement, check on my progress and answer any questions. I have met my weight goal and feel so much more healthy. Diabetes is in remission.

While a colonoscopy is never a fun thing, I found both our office visit with Dr. McGowan and the procedure yesterday to have been handled with superb professionalism. Dr. McGowan was courteous and patient in answering questions and presenting the results. The procedure was even performed ahead of our schedule time as we arrived early. Everyone was kind and courteous. An excellent experience.

Everyone was very friendly to me. There were also some other patients that were not the most cooperative in the prep room, and all of the staff that interacted with them were polite, patient, and friendly.
