Visit was absolutely Awesome! Staff was very Professional, efficient and effective! Waiting room was clean spacious and inviting. The X-Ray technician was also efficient with her instructions. Please and Thank You are the words of the Day from the entire staff when one visits. Dr Pokabla was very thorough! Treated me with dignity and respect. Recommendations I feel are on point. I felt like I was just another notch in his belt. His bedside manner is horrible. He is not friendly AT ALL. Downgraded my medical issue and made me feel like I was making up my pain. Made fun of his staff in my presence. Just overall, acted like he didn't care and very arrogant.

I will admit that I didn't do my due diligence because Dr. Riley Jones, a tried and true former doctor, referred me to Dr. Pokabla saying he was one of the best shoulder surgeons in town. And when I went to my only office visit I overlooked that he did not talk to me, listen to me, explain what he was going to do, etc. I just relied that he was a great surgeon and gave the approval for surgery. But, I already sensed that he was extremely egocentric and that his staff was terrified of him. And the raw onion on his breath was another subtle indicator of how little he cared about me, a body part instead of a name. The day of surgery he came into the room and began initialing my knee instead of my shoulder - still never calling me by name. Then he adamantly tried to convince me that he wouldn't gave mistaken me for his next knee surgery. And assuming that he actually fixed all my shoulder issues, He completely ignored my well-documented adhesive allergy and I was severely burned by all the… tape. My follow up office visit was unbelievable. I explained my concerns and he said he was sorry I felt that way and that he completely disagreed. He never checked my burned and oozing skin nor examined my shoulder. He yelled that I was discharged and stormed out of the exam room. Now I am trying to get my records transferred to a real orthopedic doctor for compassionate and competent treatment. Do yourself a favor and don't put yourself through the emotional and physical trauma by using this doctor. There are way too many others out there who don't exhibit mental deficiencies and certainly don't yell at and attempt to intimidate or mistreat patients. Good Luck.
