Dr. Christopher Edward Salem

I’ve had chronic pain problems for 15 years and I’ve spent 10’s of thousand of dollars on medical and have been to the best of the best. Dr Salem is my PCP who isn’t even close to being a good dr. He pretty much told me not to bother him! After waiting over a half hour, and that’s not at all a big deal for me, he rushed me out of his exam room to take photos with his staff!! I can go on about how incompetent I feel he is after not knowing my medical history and when confronted with this he left the room. Do go to this dr he doesn’t care!

I was admitted to fountain valley medical hospital for 4 days. I sign up for patient financial assistance program. I was given 100% forgiveness. My bill from the hospital was over $73,000. I recieved a letter from the hospital stating so. I was also told to provide this letter to all other doctors. Every bill i got was forgiven 100%. I cant tell you how much i am greateful. However. Dr Salem, keeps sending me his bill that went from $350.00 to $375.00. I got a text from from a 4 diget number asking me to send this letter and i did. I am still getting a bill from Dr Salem DO. I call his practice but no one ever answer. I wrote a letter to the CFO Ken Jordon about my experience and the errors that took place. The letter i got after i left the hospital stated my chief complaint to the ER. The chief complaint was not the one i gave to the ER department. I want the doctor office to contact me so that i can make sure they got the letter of 100% forgiveness. I dont recommend this doctor. I am… a formal surgical technician. Dr Salem DO. PLEASE CONTACT ME WITH A REAL PERSON. YOUR BEDSIDE MANNERS ARE POOR TO SAY THE LEAST.

He only visited me once while I was in the hospital (5 days) and only said “ hi I am dr Salem” . Not once he check me physically, not once he used stethoscope to check my lung, not once he explained about my treatment . Ovoid him if you can.

After reading these other reviews, I don’t feel alone. My father broke his hip, and was placed in a nursing home for rehab. Dr. Salem was his doctor. Dr. Salem has a reputation amongst the nurses that he doesn’t call back nor does he visit his patients routinely. I believe he’d come maybe once a month. I’m not sure how he is still a practicing doctor. He never returned my calls and the one time he did, I threatened to call Medicare and the medical board- he called back within minutes and was furious I stated that to his answering service. My father only declined in his care. He brushed off my dad, never spent any real time with him. A few times my dad went into the hospital, and the Dr didn’t come into his room to check his vitals. I asked the nurses if he could do that, because I’m assuming he’s billing Medicare for “seeing” my dad, and the poor nurses didn’t know what to say. He’s the worst, with a cocky attitude! I moved my dad out of his care.

What a horrible doctor. I'm a diabetic and got an infection in my foot. I went to Fountain Valley hospital and he was assigned to me. I had four surgeries. The podiatrist fought to save my foot. I saw Salem for a total of 60 seconds in my 2 week stay. He told me to just cut it off I'd be back anyway. He tried to discharge me the morning I was supposed to have one of my surgeries. When I told him I was scheduled for surgery later that day he ran out of the room. When I was finally released with my foot in tact thank God he failed to date my pain medication prescription so I couldn't fill it. We left messages for 4 days with his receptionist he never called back finally the hospital got involved and filled my medication after 4 days of agony. Please stay away and don't let your relatives fall into this abusive person's clutches.

He does not listen to anything you say. He overdosed my mother, she almost did not make it. He decided to not contact anyone like we asked and then also would not let my mother eat after she overdosed and was in the hospital. He is absolutely horrible and from all the other reviews I have read he does this to a lot of people.

He left my sister and me waiting on the day my mother died at Orange Coast Memorial. He never contacted us to apologize or offer his condolences. Complete lack of compassion.

Lack of communication and sense of urgency. My mother broke her femur. He was listed as the Admitting Doctor. It has been 18.5 hours and he has not been in to see her. I was just now told he will not be in until this evening. This is unprofessional. Her pain is unbearable. It is too much to ask for a 70 year old female to withstand. This is abusive. I would give him NO STARS. He is a no show. Horrible doctor.
