I had Neuroinvasive West Nile Encephalitis in 2015. It has been a struggle to find any provider with knowledge of this illness. My own GP retired and I was so afraid I'd have to justify everything this illness did to me. I didn't know where to go so I started reading reviews. When I saw over and over that Dr. Southwick is kind and LISTENS to you, I made an appointment to see him. I still thought I'd have to explain over and over, but during the exam I realized he knew what I'd been going through. He told me he has several WNV patients. It was such a vast relief to finally find a Doctor who knew beyond the outdated information they have on it. Don't hesitate to see him for management. I'm writing this review because that is how I found Dr. Southwick, and he is kind and he DOES listen. Thank you.

I'm a fairly new patient of Dr Southwick. I appreciate how he is personable and straight forward. A lot of straight forward doctors are super unapproachable, but Southwick isn't. Also knows what he's talking about and the staff in his offices are always respectful and get back to you in a timely manner even when super busy, which is pretty much all the time. Would definitely recommend to others.

I've seen Dr. Southwick twice now and cannot say enough positive things about him ! He listens to you and his nursing staff are awesome ! I've finally found an excellent Doctor and would definitely refer him !

I have suffered from MS, Fibromyalgia, Psoratic Arthritis and Degenerative Disk Disease in my neck and back for years. I was finally referred to Dr. Southwick by my primary care physician this year....he is amazing! Out of 5 neurologists, several primary care physicians and 1 pain management doctor I have finally found someone that is extremely knowledgeable, compassionate and understanding. Not only has my pain substantially decreased he also prescribed a muscle relaxer exclusively given to people with MS. I constantly wonder why I’ve been suffering for almost 11 years after seeing so many “specialists”! Thank you Dr. Southwick and his staff for being so amazing and for changing my life!

Dr. Southwick is very thorough, caring, and personable. He spent time getting to know me, my goal of treatment, and what he could provide me. He talked over all treatment options, and the procedure steps and what the injections would consist of. I'm a provider as well, so I refer my patients to him If they are willing to drive to Topeka. Hands down, best anesthesiologist I know!
