Dr. Christopher John Walsh, MD

Turned out he’s more of a salesman than a doctor. Talked me into a Uro-lift and said recovery was nothing. Wrong! Make no mistake about it the first week is very, very, painful. In addition, the procedure never worked. After my follow up office visit he joked about having to redo his neighbor 3 times. At a cost to my insurance of approximately $20k I really don’t think that’s an option. Nor do I want to endure that painful recovery again. I feel like I was bamboozled and wouldn’t recommend him at this point.

During my last routine office visit, I asked Dr. Walsh about prescription drugs for erectile dysfunction. He responded saying, "You're old, it happens, get over it." Then, he walked out of the exam room. After that experience, I transferred my care to a different Urologist.

3 years ago Dr Walsh went through a procedure on my wife to remove a kidney stone. As it turned out there was no kidney stone and yet Dr Walsh inserted a stent which damaged nerves so severely she still is unable to physically function. Very severe pain daily with no possible treatment to reduce the pain. Also, prior to that I had seen Dr Walsh regarding a problem and given a subscription for pain pills. Shortly after that the pain pill was recalled and never a word from Dr Walsh. I would encourage anyone to evaluate how they proceed.

Each time I call Dr. Walsh's office I have a hard time getting information from the staff that is important/vital to me. They are unable to answer the simplest questions. Apparently the most important person n the office isn't the doctor but the scheduler. She does not like to talk to people and her office hours DO NOT correspond in any way with the office hours posted. Talk to Dr. Walsh not his underlings. Bob the Horrible....

Don't even think about going to this doctor! He took a simple kidney stone removal and turn it into my husband losing his entire kidney! He should lose his license after this one! As he keeps saying he's the professional!!!!

Before he even examined me on my first visit, Dr. Walsh launched into a commercial for the procedure called "Uro-Lift." The commercial continued during a subsequent Cystoscopy at his office, and his disappointment when I said I preferred medication was palpable. Days after my Cystoscopy I came down with a painful urinary tract bacterial infection requiring a course of expensive antibiotics. Clearly more attention needs to be paid to sterilization of equipment.

My husband had a vasectomy and Dr Walsh was great. Unfortunately his office staff sucks. The women that answer the phone are the crabbiest and least helpful women that have ever answered a phone. They are sarcastic and treat you like you're an idiot. The lab women aren't any better. So impersonal.

I saw Dr. Walsh in July of 2017. After a visit, it was determined that I was a god candidate for a laser TURP procedure for an enlarged prostate. I had the procedure in Aug. 2017. Dr. Walsh put me totally at ease and was very professional, also had a great bedside manner. The procedure was completely painless, with only a couple days of post operative discomfort, (which was very minor). Now, a month later, All my symptoms are completely gone, and I am feeling 100% better! I would absolutely recommend Dr. Walsh.

Was early 20s when I saw Dr Walsh. With his knowledge in collaboration with a "super-specialist" in Chicago I have led a normal life. Can't thank this man enough, am eternally grateful.

Biopsy by his office partner confirmed prostate cancer. I chose surgery, but Dr. Walsh would be the surgeon. Consultation was rushed, but he assured me he had done over a thousand surgeries with rarely a complication. I was in the hospital only two days, and was sent home with a catheter. I had trouble with the catheter and the fluid drainage tube right away. Pain increased. My belly filled with fluid. I called, and was told this was "normal." I went into the office and he told me the distinction would subside, and gave me stronger pain meds. Over the next couple of days the pain became unbearable. I called and he said take more pain meds. He seemed annoyed, prescribed OxyContin, and said if I couldn't take it anymore to go to the ER. That night I did, and was found to have a superbug infection and was in critical condition with vital organs shutting down, and barely a BP. I spent a week in ICU, near death, and the hero is the infection specialist who saved my life. Several other… specialists attended, and even my GP came to see me, but Dr. Walsh did not appear until after I was well enough to transfer to a regular isolation room. From the ICU, I had heard the heart specialist arguing with Dr. Walsh on the phone that I was too ill to be moved from ICU yet. When recovering in the isolation hospital room, all who entered gowned up per protocol- except for Dr. Walsh. Eventually I was discharged, with Dr. Walsh pushing for earlier than the other physicians, and had weeks of daily IV antibiotics as an outpatient. In office follow ups Dr. Walsh is rushed, projects overconfidence, minimizes patient concerns, lacks listening skills and empathy. He seems overscheduled and runs an assembly line. His failure to consider that I might have had a hospital-acquired infection during surgery, and his wholly inadequate response to my deteriorating condition nearly cost me my life. In his own mind he is a brilliant physician and surgeon, but I would feel better cared for, and safer, in the hands of a more modest professional with better patient skills. At over a year later, I am struggling with incontinence, which is usually abated at this point. On the plus side, the cancer is gone; I will have to give him that.
