The negative reviews are accurate. I sat in a patient room for 45 minutes waiting for a Dr. York without a sign ... or even a courtesy check in from his staff . I eventually just got up and left to go to work... only to receive a phone call 30 minutes later at work asking me if I had gone to the bathroom or left the building. I told them I was in fact a work.... and that I was it was unacceptable. I was however offered a free visit to redo the same nightmare at a later time like that helps. 100% worst office visit I've had in my life!!! I know that's a heavy statement... but my wife and serval of our close friends are physician's and we all know there are certain type of practices that are just disgraceful because they can get away with it. This is that practice. Stay away!!!

Unfortunately, this website does not have the ability to reply to comments left by previous reviewers; but for full disclosure this is Dr Christopher York. I wanted to respond to the posting left earlier by a patient who, regrettably is quite dissatisfied. First, let me invite you back for a more detailed description of any question you might have about your ailments. Secondly, I apologize if I did not succeed in making my treatment plan clear. I frequently see patients who have small holes in their eardrum, whether it be left over from prior tubes or from prior infections. I'm unsure of exactly how I described it to you as I do not know who you are, but very small pin-point perforations do in fact require no treatment as they are not likely to be causing any symptoms. If you would like for me to surgically repair your ear anyway, which some patients may prefer so that they can swim underwater without using ear plugs, this would be a good elective reason to repair the hole. … However, I keep it as a point of personal integrity that I do not push unnecessary procedures on my patients. Additionally, in patients with reflux laryngitis, I will frequently prescribe them medications for the short term to both treat their symptoms, and in fact act as a more efficient diagnostic test of sorts. This will frequently involve the use a PPI (such as nexium or prilosec). I do in fact make it a point to take the time to explain to patients the risks of these very common medications (which are indeed available over the counter). One of those risks comes from a very poorly done study that I reviewed 2 years ago showing a very slight increase in the risk of dementia among residents of the nursing home population who've taken them daily for 18 months or longer. As part of my usual discussion when prescribing these, I make it a point to make sure you know these risks so that you don't inadvertently continue to take them over-the-counter for decades should you choose not to follow up with me. I apologize that you feel our encounter was rushed, and truthfully, being so long ago, and not knowing who you are, I cannot comment on this. However, I always place the expectation on myself that I leave no questions unanswered. I do sincerely hope that you'll return so that I can clear any further concerns you've raised. I'm also happy to call my patients after hours if there is ever a question that wasn't addressed during our visit in clinic.

After waiting over an hour, I finally saw Dr. York. I realize it was the last appointment of the day and his staff was discussing that everyone on the other side of the office had left, while they were still there. I felt like the Dr. was ready to go home, too! he spent very little time with me and i do not feel he listened to my concerns. Near the end of the appointment he looked in my ear and said..."It looks like you have a small hole in your ear drum" Don't worry it shouldn't cause much of a hearing loss. After discussing I did not want medicine for laryng reflux that has been determined to cause memory loss, he gave me a prescription for one that does anyway.
