Dr. Chukwunonyeluan Okocha, MD

I had a very complicated first pregnancy. Dr Okocha is the most amazing doctor, and the best I ever could have asked for. She always informed me of everything going on and all of my options while being kind and comforting. She listened to all of my concerns, she came in on a day she wasn't supposed to be there to check on me and ended up delivering my son via emergency c-section. She also was there every step for my second which was much more "standard". I was sad that she left before my third

I saw Dr. Okocha for emergency surgery for a large ovarian cyst. She was very friendly and explained everything very well before surgery. I was in an incredible amount of pain and she was able to get me in to surgery very quickly, i had no post op pain or complications and you can barely see the incisions now. At the follow up she was very nice and explained things even more and even got out images from my laparascopic surgery to better explain things. I highly recommend her!

I feel she is a skilled surgeon, I had no complications from my surgery and healed quickly.She was not around when I came out of surgery and was asking how it went, mainly did they have to remove my ovary. The nurses were not informed, Dr. Okocha was not around to ask...no one knew the outcome of my surgery and it was very important for me to know as I was trying to get pregnant at the time.She did visit me hours after the surgery in my hospital room and was very short with me and dismissed the fact that I had been vomiting since shortly after coming out of surgery due to the epidural I was given. I told her I couldn't even keep ice chips down, I would vomit them back up. Her response to me was "how about NOT EATING eat ice chips". I kid you not.I had abdominal surgery, so vomiting was pretty painful. She did not order any medication to help with the nausea or any other suggestions except to "not eat ice chips"She said she would be back the next day to check on me and left.I rolled… over and cried for the next hour or so between vomiting.Thank God a nurse came in and I told her I couldn't stop vomiting and was very thirsty. She was shocked that no one else had tried to help, said that she would be right back. She came back and put something in my I.V. and the nausea went away.No, I would not go back to Dr. Okocha. This happened a few years ago, but is still fresh in my mind. If this prevents someone else from going through what I did, it was worth it.
