Dr. Clarence Smith, MD

When Obama care was forced upon us, I was told I could no longer keep my doctor of many years, and was asked to select a new in network doctor. These 2 visits occured in 2014 to the best of my recolection. I selected from the very few whom were seeing patients based on my location, and needs. I had selected this fellow Clarence Smith Junior. Initial appointment was fine as I explained the situation, and told him the reason for my initial visit was for a physical and primarily to meet him, to see what he was all about. The doctor's attitute was fine, not overly friendly neutral, but I felt as if he was not understanding why I would wish to meet him prior to selecting him as Primary Care Physician permanently (although it was already printed on my card as I was told that I must do this first, as I must make an appointment for something to be granted allowance to meet him. ) The appointment containted a strange situation in which the doctor and his staff discussed the location of my… chart. Apparently it was not made, or they had misplaced it. I figured well they will make it later because I am new. Doctor made a joke about how crazy it was there. Now I returned to see him for a second appointment, and wished to continue a conversation about an issue I talked about during the physical appointment, and referenced the last time. When I did this he told interjected what am I talking about last time, and that he has never seen me before in his life. This made me feel great, so I attempted to help him recall the session by reminding him about the confusion over the chart telling him about how they could not find it. The doctor became very cross, and apparently I had offended him by suggesting such a thing. He stared at me for a moment before he denied it occuring- I am not suprised he would not remember me, but was saddened by this whole event.

They never answer the telephone during call times and you can't leave a message. Staff is rude and uncaring, office and examining room is dirty. I really don't know how they stay in business. I will never go back there again!!!!

Dr. Smith is a very understanding doctor. He listens carefully to every issue I bring up. He is the first and ONLY doctor to treat my FIBROMYALGIA with the perfect regimen. I am able to go to work now because of his aggressive treatment. He put a stop to my fibromyalgia pain. God Bless Clarence Smith!!

If I had better insurance I would NEVER go here!! Lets start with the staff-rude, discourteous, lacking in knowledge, curt, uncaring...I could go one but you get the point. Dr. Smith doesn't diagnose other then to tell me what type of specialist I should see. I believe that I go here so he can collect his office visit for that. Any problem I have ever had he has sent me somewhere else which takes longer for me to be treated. Doesn't respond well to emergency cases. I have had to go to the emergency twice during open hours because they would not see me. These were situations that couldn't wait a couple days but I would not have normally thought of going to the E.R. for. Back to the staff, I would have left no stars or even negative stars if that were possible. I dread having to call them for anything at all. This office staff actually changed the strength of my medication, raising it without Dr. approval and denied I had ever had a different strength. I obtained proof of different… strength from the pharmacist who copied the actual prescription for me.

I don't recommend you go to Landmark Medical. The receptionist is not trained to take care of your urgent needs. He was out of the office, but when I mentioned the lack of urgent care there, he was more defensive than caring. I did not get any care when I needed it urgently. ( it was borderline emergency, but did not warrant a $6,000 bill later.). He told me to go somewhere else when I pointed this out to him -- not a sign of a sincerely caring doctor. It was more about his ego and being defensive than patient welfare. Landmark will continue to fail to provide urgent care if they don't change their protocol.

I'm pleased with this doctor. Went the extra mile to help me with my prescription, was caring and courteous. Would recommend.

Won't listen to you or return your phone calls when having severe reactions to medication he's prescribed. Patient care is extremely low. You couldn't pay me to go back to him as his care was soo bad.
