Dr. Claricia Simmons Shepherd, MD

She's the best pediatrician here in Vegas.

We have been going to Dr. Simmons-Sheppard for the past 5 years or so and I will not ever take my children elsewhere. In fact, when we've gone in without an appointment and could not be seen by her or when she was out on maternity leave, boy did we miss her. She is second to none. She treats your child like they are her own, she is so gentle, attentive, concerned, soft-spoken, sweet, kind, knowledgeable; I could go on. What a blessing she is for our 3 kids, aged 9, 8 and 3. I also live near the new SWMed clinic but still drive to see her and would do so if she were across town. We have been to many so-called "good" Peds at clinics in Summerlin and Mountainview Hospitals, but none come close to her. And as the previous reviewer said, you do have to wait for a good Dr., but that just goes to show, she is actually taking her time in there with whoever she's seeing, not rushing them through.

Dr. Simmons-Shepherd is your dream pediatrician - seriously! I had (as we all have) multiple poor experiences with other ped's - uncaring, rushed, sarcastic, rough handling! This Dr. is none of those. She is sweet, gentle, soft-spoken, asks questions, ANSWERS questions!!, very caring and thorough with my 3 kids, ages 2, 7 & 8. I had a new Southwest Medical open up by my house recently, 5 mins away, but I would rather still drive the 20 mins to see Dr. Simmons-Shepherd. Really worth it for peace of mind and a good experience all-around. p.s. I rated the wait time poorly because you do have to wait for a good Dr, everyone wants to see her!
