Dr. Claude Farid Karam, MD

I came in hoping for support and collaboration regarding my son’s ongoing health challenges. Unfortunately, I was told that my request for a lab check wasn’t necessary, and that it wouldn’t be ordered — not even for follow-up purposes. When I expressed my concern, the explanation I received was dismissive. I ultimately chose not to proceed with the visit. I believe families deserve a provider who takes time to listen, explain options, and respect parental concerns — especially when a child has complex needs.

I’ve seen Dr Karam since my son was born 12 years ago. But I must admit, over the last 2 years, I’ve seen a huge decline of care from his office staff regarding filling prescriptions, lost prescriptions, failure to return calls timely, etc. As a single parent, this affects my child’s learning, as I spend money back and forth to his office every 3 months to get a refill 45 minutes away from where we live now. They take FOREVER to answer their phone, and the staff I question even tell this Dr who’s calling or for what. I am so frustrated just trying to get my son’s monthly meds refill without losing days and days and days of time off work trying to accomplish what ANY Dr’s office should be able to do: fill a simple years long needed CHILD’s medication which they REQUIRE to learn. If this is how difficult it is to call in a script, it makes you wonder what else may be scrimped on. Update Now 10/8/24: This Dr became so mad I wrote this review that he abruptly dropped my 12 year old as a… patient where he went THREE months without his needed meds because it’s so hard to find a pediatric doctor who prescribes them. He gave me a yelling over as his office to defend his awful staff, berating me for publicly discussing the decline of his patients care. When I called a month later asking him to at least NOT take this out on my son in his academic year, he did not change. When I had to take my son to the ER, for his continued medical care, the ER doctors told me he should have set my son up with a new prescribing doctor with continued health care. None of that was done for this CHILD who had been in his practice 12 years and he simply “fired” the child because he didn’t like his review. Is that professional? Sounds like an adolescent acting out narc if you ask me. My review I stand by.

Dr. Karam has been seeing my kids for a little over 10 years. He was my sons pediatrician since birth. We had to move out of state 3 years ago and because he is an exceptional doctor and a great person we chose to travel once a year to continue to have my younger two children annual check ups with Dr. Karam. I would travel to the moon to continue care with Dr. Karam. He and his staff makes us feel like family. They care about the patients and their well being. At anytime when I call, he makes all efforts to contact me back. I highly recommend him! We love Dr. Karam and his staff!!

I'm so happy that I had switched pediatricians a few years ago to Dr. Karam. He is extremely professional, kind and patient with my daughter. She had a bad ear infection during our visit yesterday and started crying just prior her examinination. However, Dr. Karam was able to quickly calm her down in a way that a parent would. I really appreciate that he put her at ease and made her feel like family. I would highly recommend him to my family and friends.

We are very pleased with Dr. Karam outstanding professionalism and friendly attitude. He took his time to examine our daughter and make sure that she was being treated properly. After his thorough examination, Dr. Karam discussed in detail the required treatment. Thanks to his attention, our daughter has been feeling much better. I highly recommend him if you are looking for a great Pediatrician.

I had an absolutely terrible experience with this doctor. I picked this office actually because of the good reviews here, but am extremely disappointed and want to warn another parents. My husband and I didn’t feel comfortable with Dr. Karam from the beginning, his bedside manners are absolutely terrible, however we decided to stick with him, because of the reviews and see if maybe he is a good doctor. So first of all, if we called him because our daughter had fever or something, he never knew who was the patient, he kept calling our daughter “him.” Second and the most important reason, my daughter had a fever after her latest vaccination and she was teething at the same time, so the fever was a couple days longer than usual. I came to the doctor’s office, he was extremely rude, he didn’t listen what I was trying to tell him, he commanded me to reply only to questions he was asking. Then he said he wanted to run a test with a tube or something to take my daughter’s urine to prevent a… urine infection, I said I don’t want to run this test this way, because there are no symptoms of it, but I could collect my daughter’s pee or do it another way if it is really necessary. He was trying to scare me that she can have a kidney disease or some other terrible diseases and we have to do this test immediately. When he got that I’m not doing it this way, he got kinda angry and said that he would give me a referral to the lab to get bags, but the results could be wrong and we should start giving my daughter antibiotics. I asked: if it’s not an infection? He said then we would stop it in two days. Are you serious? I got the feeling he just wanted to run tests to charge our insurance and he just wanted to make money. But there are should be boundaries!!! So dear parents, think twice before choosing this doctor’s office. Obviously, I changed doctors immediately.

Dr. Karam and his team are simply amazing! You are never rushed or treated like "just another patient." Katrina his nurse is so gentle and great at what she does. I highly recommend this practice to anyone looking, trust me when I say you'll be in good hands!

Dr Karam has been the primary care giver for both of my children for the last 5 years and I can only command his expertise and care. He's never failed to see my children when they were sick. When my daughter was hospitalized he visited her at the hospital even though she was under the care of a different doctor. Not long ago I took my son to the emergency room where his condition was not accurately diagnosed. I saw Dr Karam the next day, and he immediately diagnosed his condition and sent him to a specialist. It was extremly difficult to get an appointment with a specialist on a short notice, so Dr. Karam personally called the specialist who saw my son that same week and confirmed his diagnostic.
