Dr. Claudia Elia Mason, MD

I'm commenting on the second time I've visited with Dr Mason and why I never will again. I've never met such a belittling, rude, and dismissive doctor. The first time I visited her, she refused to believe me about my own sexual health and ordered tests I didn't need, and this time she completely disregarded bedside manner. Knowing nothing about her patient, she made her assumptions clear, dismissed any patient concerns, and refused to listen to anything I had to say before sharing her thoughts. Short of saying it was a waste of her time, she didn't want to be there, and her snickering outside the door made it clear.

She proceeded to perform unnecessary STD tests on me, despite my objections, and explanation as to why they were not needed. Felt insulting that she seemed to assume that the reason for the pain I was experiencing was due to having some STD. She did not seem to care about anything I had to say, just was intent on doing unnecessary tests (which insurance didn't cover, by the way...I had to pay completely out of pocket for them, which made the situation even more maddening.) As a patient, I had the right to refuse any test which I felt was unnecessary. She does not seem to respect her patients. Never again...I've avoided her like the plague since.

This doctor is rude, abrasive and not interested in you as a patient. She has prescribed and diagnosed issues for me that others doctors in the Clinic have questioned. She is not a doctor I would ever recommend! Please find someone who cares about you as a patient and who is qualified to address your issues.

I have seen Dr. Mason several times. She has always spent the time necessary to listen, evaluate and include me in decisions. I have recommended her to friends and co workers who also have had the same experience. I read some of the negative reviews, and that has never been my experience. She has been with the clinic a long time, and that counts for me to develop the relationship.

Doctor was on time. The nurse assistant who types in information for Dr. is un-sympathetic and condescending. In comes Dr. Mason, apparently consistent with her office's attitude for personnel's behavior: she too is cold, is bored with you and merely going through the motions. For some reason, she seems to be critical and negative towards this patient. I have seen her twice because of the Cleveland Clinic connection, however, I will find another practitioner who runs a positive patient/ doctor environment

Very personable and bright woman. When I first visited her she spent a long time with me sorting out physical issues and a few life issues as well. She gave me very good advice, the necessary treatment and I was back on track. That's the side of medicine we don't see these days - treating the whole person. Thank you Dr. Mason. You may not even realize what you did for me.

Very caring and professional doctor. Explains everything in easy to understand language. She's a gem!

She can dismiss any concerns because she's the doctor type attitude! I've seen her a few times and I'm not to happy with how she has the attitude like she knows more than you! My concerns where dismissed right away without listening to them. I felt rushed and I wanted a PAP performed and she said rules had changed on how soon they had to be done and didn't give me a choice to decide. A Dr that doesn't Listen to what the patient request is NOT a Doctor I want.

The most important thing about this doctor is how comforting she is. I was really nervous about my visit, but she put me at ease and the exam was comfortable and over quickly. She explained everything to me and answered all my questions. She gave me choices for treatment so I could pick what suited me best.

Dr Mason makes you feel comfortable by her friendly warm disposition. She takes the time to assess everything going on in your life. I've had quick appointments because everything is going well and longer visits where she gave me lots of time.
