Dr. Claudine Michele Sylvester, MD

I did like Dr. Sylvester when I was at Woman First for a long time however, I was misdiagnosed and saw a new obgyn to get a second opinion and that helped get me back on track and saved my life.

Dr. Claudine Sylvester was the best OBGYN in West Orange

Dr.Sylvester is just exceptional! I have been going to her for about 2 years now and I would recommend for everyone to switch their doctors for Dr.Sylvester. She is everything you want in a doctor and Women First is everything you want in a OB/GYN office.

Dr. Sylvester has a good bedside manor. She seems to enjoy her line of work. Sometimes the wait can be long, the staff can be rude at times but most of my visits were fine. I was misdiagnosed and left the practice, because of this I would not recommend women first health center.

Dr. Sylvester has a great bedside manner. She's very friendly and caring and also a very good listener. I can tell she enjoys her work and the people who surround her do too. I highly highly recommend her.

I do not understand why, but Dr. Sylvester chose to share a story with me during my exam (my first visit with her). She told me that a few years earlier, when she was till new to the practice, she had been diagnosed with a painful condition for which her doctor prescribed pain medication that made her loopy. She was home one night and decided to take this medicaiton, even though she was on-call. She was called in to deliver a baby, and said that she told her husband, "honey, I don't think I should drive to the hospital - I'm wasted on that medication!" She said that she was nervous about not takng thie patient because she was new to the pracrice and wanted to make a good improession. So, her husband drove her to the hospital. SO SHE COULD DELIVER A BABY...WASTED??? I was so shocked that she did this, and that she thought it was no big deal to TELL me this!! Oh and, by the way, she also mis-diagnosed me and I wound up having to see another doctor to get the correct diagnosis and… medication. I will NEVER go back to her or to that practice again.

Dr.Sylvester is a wonderful doctor and an awesome surgeon. The staff is rude!

the office staff actually could be helpful and instructive on insurance and payment issues; but I found the atmosphere to be threatening and uncomfortable.

Dr. Sylvester is incredibly knowledgeable! She's compassionate and kind and is able to make all of her patients, from the youngest ones to the elderly, feel at complete and total ease. I highly recommend her!
