Dr. Claudio Andres Feler, MD

I was severely injured in a motor vehicle accident while serving in the military. A school bus driver drove through a full stop. I broadsided it head first, at 50-45mph with my motorcycle, then re-bounded over 20 feet backwards into the median. The first hospital I was sent to, found that the lumbar region shattered and shot bone through my right kidney and pancreas, a massive hematoma, torn duodenum, torn cecum, numbness in feet and hands, and pain in lower back and neck. The U.S. Navy directed the hospital to send me to the V.A., as they would not pay for additional CAT scans and medical care. Dr. Feler, who worked at the VA Hospital at the time, refused me admittance to the VA hospital, because I was active-duty, not a "veteran". He left me on a gurney in the hallway, because the ambulance drivers refused to remove me. I argued with him for a CAT scan from the chest to head region. He finally relented to cervical X-Rays. They were useless with the damage I had. I was not admitted… until my C.O. complained. That was 12 hours after my accident. He claimed that there was no other damage to my spine, causing years of miss-diagnostics from other medical specialists, trying to treat my failing health through the years. 35 years after the accident, when neurosurgeons had to place titanium rods and screws at C-2 to C-7, they told me they could clearly see the striations in the cervical bone from the WHOLE spine being crushed like an accordion. He didn't misdiagnosis, Dr. Feler, didn't give a crap! He even tried to have me discharged the next morning, but I could not walk, and still had major internal organ injuries and internal bleeding.

I was treated by Dr Feler some years ago. I am a RN and over the 46 years I have been practicing I don’t think I’ve met a better neurosurgeon or more ethical one. I was extremely disappointed when I found out he was leaving Memphis.

Dr. Feler is a very good and talented neurosurgeon. He is very attentive, friendly and reassuring. My cervical spine fusion was very successful and didn't lose any range of motion. Then, I had a herniated lumbar disc and numb toes. I woke up and felt normal .... Aside from the regular pain level and you should expect from anesthesia. If you follow his advice and not do anything to compromise his work, you will recover !!!

Dr. Feler was very good and answered why I had the pain and numbness I had been feeling.

Dr.Feler is a very good Dr. I really miss him so much science he moved from Memphis.

I wish he was more professional. He is very smug

Felers surgery disabled me and I wasn't before. He doesn't stick around to treat the injuries or help me determine what went wrong or where to go next. This ruined my life...career, relationships, child bearing years. I don't know how he sleeps at night. He's well aware there are many and he makes no apologies. BUYER BEWARE. COCKY ISNT COMPENT

I did not have a good experience with Feler! He was very rude,after my surgery he seemed to be upset because I was stillin pain. He spends time with you beforesurgery after that none!!!!

Dr. Feler is the most brilliant, compassionate and dedicated physician I have ever known. My wife has Central Pain, a rare but unreachable pain condition. She had 9 brain surgeries,including with Dr. Feler. 9 months after he was unable to help, he came up with a unique approach, never done before, and it helped. He is one of the only doctors over 20 years who really understood my wife's pain and worked to help even after his surgeries were over.
