Dr. Clay H Ward, PhD

Clays ethic and integrity are highly questionable in my experience. I paid him $2000 to do a psych eval on the mother of my child for a custody dispute. His evaluation of her was spot on but he took almost every single thing I said to him on our phone call out of context and blatantly misrepresented me and distorted the truth. When I talked to him over the phone he was quick to come up with an excuse as to why he wasn't going to listen to the recording of the conversation we had. I would have believed it was an honest mistake if he was willing to review the recording I had but he refused. He wouldn't even consider it. He said his policy is to never listen to anyone else's recordings but his own and admitted that he didn't have a recording of our conversation. If he refuses to learn from his mistakes or even acknowledge them for the sake of not repeating them then I hope you can learn from my mistake and take your money elsewhere or record every interaction and make sure he does too.… You have an ethical and moral responsibility to not distort the truth Dr Clay. I hope you will learn from the mistakes you made that you refused to even acknowledge

I was unsure of Dr Ward when I first met him. His style seemed very slowly paced, when I went in with so much to say. He listened to my initial blast of information, then, later came back with specific questions, and allowed me to share the exhibits, text messages, emails etc. that I believed proved my point. He was open with the evaluations, and even called me out on some of the issues that I may have repressed or had tried to put behind me. His evaluation was fair, and I believe were in the best interests of children.

Unethical.

Dr Ward took the time necessary to complete testing, explain the results of testing and didn't jump to any conclusions at all without very extensive discussion. I made it easy to understand the long-term implications of the injuries I'd sustained and how to cope and even improve with time. He was an advocate, one that has made a great difference in the outcome of my dealings with insurance and other institutions.
