I was referred to Dr. Gronseth by a friend for a back issue that had been troubling me for some time. As I Iive outside the USA, the scheduling, questions, patient information and follow-up was all done either via Skype or email. Samanatha, the young lady at Dr. Gronseth's office who helped me, was incredibly kind, courteous and efficient - nothing was too much trouble for her. At my appointment, Dr. Gronseth diagnosed my problem, explained the issue, the treatment plan and prognosis. He was amazing - very patient, caring, competent and inspired me with a great deal of confidence in his ability to help me. Dr. Gronseth performed a procedure in the office and explained every step of the way. It was all over within ten minutes - I felt no pain and left the office feeling 200% better than when I arrived! It was an all around positive experience and I have no hesitation recommending Dr. Gronseth.

Waiting times in the office were very reasonable. The office staff was friendly, professional, and helpful. My physical therapist, Phil Rolfe, was also excellent. He was knowledgeable, caring, skillful, and energetic. The physical therapy I received was very helpful. When it was completed after four weeks, I left with a good understanding of what caused my problem, and a set of exercises to use on my own to maintain and improve my health in the future.

As a health care provider myself, I was absolutely delighted with the service and care my husband received when seeking a second opinion from Dr. Gronseth in the Spine West clinic this past month.My husband was scheduled for a very invasive cervical spine surgery and we were concerned whether the surgery would truly address the specific problems my husband was experiencing.My husband had been a patient of Dr Gronseth's over the years, albeit, he had not seen him in the recent past. After contacting Dr. Gronseth and explaining his dilemma, Dr Gronseth immediately took the time to squeeze my husband into his already fully booked schedule that week.Upon arrival in the clinic in Boulder we were greeted immediately by the front office staff and even graciously offered a beverage while we waited! That was a first for both of us! The office was open and bright, nicely decorated and clearly communicated a message that the clinic was patient centered and focused on the health and well being of… the patients. Staff appeared to enjoy the work they were doing.After a brief wait, Dr. Gronseth met with us. We had all the MRI's, CT scans, and electrical stimulation tests with us for his review. Dr Gronseth took considerable time both examining my husband and reviewing the myriad of tests we carried with us and explaining what he saw . He was very concerned about the surgical treatment plan, as he concluded the problem was not a spinal chord issue, but rather one involving an innervating nerve in the cervical region. The surgery my husband was originally scheduled for was one focused on a chord issue. The potential surgery was known to be extremely invasive, painful and could result in a life time of neck instability and chronic pain.Dr Gronseth explained the procedure to us and was forthright in providing us with a full disclosure of what the surgery would entail, including the rehabilitation that would be necessary - far more information and time spent with us, than we had received from the surgeon we had scheduled the surgery with.Dr Gronseth also put in a call to a colleague, a neurosurgeon he has worked with and had a full consult with him on the speaker phone while we listened to the discussion. Dr. Gronseth then asked if there was any chance we could get in to see the neurosurgeon. He agreed to see us that day, a Friday at 4:00! We had previously spent months waiting to get into see a surgeon, with one phone call, Dr Groseth paved the way for us to get in immediately! We were delighted and extremely appreciative of Dr Gronseths concern and interventions on my husbands behalf. The appointment with Dr Choi the neurosurgeon was also very thorough and he concurred that the original surgical plan would not address the problem! He encouraged us to get another opinion before committing to the surgery.Needless to say, we now have a very different surgical plan, that is far less invasive, addresses the symptoms and not the films. We can not say enough to thank Dr Gronseth for his exemplary care, skill and willingness to go out of his way to help my husband! Dr Gronseth is the kind of health care provider that goes the distance for his patients - far beyond his contemporaries out there in health care!
