Dr. Berken was my doctor for 25 years. During that time, he has seen me through so many medical crises that I can't list them all here. I am waiting for his return to practice, because frankly, there is no other.

Dr. Berken is the most compassionate doctor that I have ever known. He never rushes me out of the office. He remembers everything I tell him, even things that I don't remember!! I have been waiting for him to come back before I have a colonoscopy. He also saved my neighbor's life. I love him.

I have been Dr. Berken's patient for 23 years. I understand he has taken some time off of practice. My husband and I want him back. We need him. There are no substitutes in his office. No one who cares as much as he does. I even called him at home a few times when I heard one of his partners was answering calls that night, and he was happy to take my call. Best of the Best.

I don't know anything about his legal problems, however his medical behavior was terrible.

Dr. Berken is the best doctor there is. About four years ago, I came to see him because of a serious liver condition. My previous gastroenterologist was not particularly interested in my problem...but Dr. Berken was. He treated me as if I were his only patient, and if he hadn't heard from me for a while, called to see how I was feeling. Fortunately, I recovered completely thanks to his care. I have been back to the office once since Dr. Berken left, and my new doctor gave me the rush job. She said that she had read my chart and knew all about me, until I started asking some questions and advice. She seemed not to know anything about my case. Hopefully Dr. Berken will be back soon. I can name at least a dozen of my friends who are waiting for him as well. I hope he is OK.

I have been waiting for 3 years for Dr. Berken to return to practice. He is like no other doctor that I have seen in the past 10 years. He actually takes the time to talk to me about my family and about concerns beyond my medical conditions. He has never forgotten a single detail about what I have told him. He developed a very special relationship with my elderly parents. He was like their personal therapist and I cannot express how much that meant to them and to me. He kept them alive! God Bless him and his wonderful family.

Tops. Cannot find a more compassionate and intelligent doctor. As the Beatles said, "GET BACK TO WHERE YOU ONCE BELONGED!" My family misses you.

Simply the best doctor in the world. Now that I have moved to Florida, I have come across at least a dozen other seniors who still come up to CT to see Dr. Berken. We all love him. I pray he is back in practice soon. I think we'll all charter a bus and head up to see him together. It is well worth the 1500 miles.

Dr. Berken is the very best there is ... caring, smart, great bedside manner. I miss him terribly and can't wait for him to return to practice. He is a gift to the medical community.
