Dr. Clifford S Essman, PhD

My younger daughter met with Dr. Clifford Essman twice for test anxiety. During our initial meeting he seemed cold and unwelcoming. We both felt it but my younger daughter (16 y/o) thought it might be contributed to his age. I thought it was his personality. He was abrupt and disinterested. The second visit my daughter had was to take the test. Again, he was disengaged and showed no eye contact with me. We forgot a follow up appointment for the results of her testing. He called to ask if we were coming. When I grossly apologized, his reply was, "Oh well, that's just great!" and the phone went silent. I was embarrassed and frustrated. While we take responsibility for our actions, this only heightens my personal frustration about him as a person and as a psychologist. My daughter was taken aback as well. I hung up abruptly. I will send him an email letting him know how unhappy and taken aback I was.
