Dr. Clifton Tokuji Furukawa, MD

I am so thankful for Dr. Furukawa, he changed my child's quality of life for the better. We found our way to Dr. Furukawa because I was looking at some of his research on alternative treatments to steroids for asthma in children. My daughter has food allergies, environmental allergies, and suffered from severe asthma, the kind that went from "zero to sixty" in severity with each attack. We would find ourselves calling 911 or in the ER and once at Seattle Children's for a couple overnight stays. She was constantly on steroids, inhaled and oral. As a result she was experiencing all kinds of negative side effects. She felt agitated, she had an unhealthy weight, did not sleep well. Every doctor we saw offered only steroids. Dr. Furukawa did research an older, alternative mast cell stabilizer / inhibitor called Cromolyn Sodium. We put our daughter on a twice a day inhaled treatment, and her asthma improved to the point that she has not had a severe attack in years. Dr. Furukawa offered a… creative solution what works with what our family needed, and did that with great sensitivity and compassion, combined with matter of fact, practical advice.

this doctor is the rudest doctor i have come across in my 41 years of age. he wouldn't even listen or let me talk to him and constantly interrupted me. i did not feel like he had my best interests in mind and would never see someone with a demeanor such as his. for anyone seeking a good allergy doctor, look elsewhere......this guy is a total jerk and not a people person. he was not kind or friendly and made me feel like a piece of cattle.
