Dr. Howard graduated from The University of Alabama with a bachelorâ€™s degree in biology and received his medical degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. He completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of South Alabama. He completed fellowship training in spine surgery at the Foundation for Orthopaedic and Athletic Related Research at Baylor College of Medicine and The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.

Dr. Howard specializes in spinal deformity, with interests in oncology and reconstruction of the cervical thoracic and lumbar spine and is board certified with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Dr. Howard enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family.

Excellent visit from start to finish. I went in about 20% confident that he could resolve my problem because ive had negative results with pain management and neurologists!! I left feeling that when i complete the process with him that my problem was going to be fixed!! I have to say i feel 100% confident that its going to work!! Thank yall!!

Dr. Howard is the only doctor I will trust with my spine. He is not quick to jump into surgery, offering alternatives unless it’s time when surgery is necessary. He has treated both my neck (surgery) and lower back (pain management for now). I will refer him to anyone I talk to who needs a doctor for spinal/ortho issues. He is an incredible surgeon and has amazing bedside manner. There are sometimes long waits in the office, but I suspect it’s because he’s so wonderful and helping so many people - I will wait to see him no matter what. He’s THAT good!

My visit with Dr Howard was great. I was enlightened by his conversation of how our life style starts slowly with pain and continue as we love longer . I was glad to be told that life could be so much worse ,so I'm Greatful that I'm not at the worst.I respect Dr.Howard's professional opinion to the up most.

Dr.Howard's rating should be 5 of 5 nor 4.7. Dr.Howard is an EXCELLENT surgeon,as he performed the surgery on my back 2 years ago. I'm grateful I chose Dr.Howard!!

This was my first visit with Dr. Howard. He had x-rays done quickly and gave me the diagnosis immediately. Everyone was friendly and professional and I was out in 22 minutes.
