Dr. Colleen Walsh Cardella

I had an unfortunate new patient appointment today. Dr. Cardella seemed to lack attention to details. She asked questions repeatedly and explained things she already mentioned. Her medical assistant is not the most pleasant nor did she seem concerned with creating a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, Cardella does not use the pre-packaged tools for Pap smears. I would suggest anyone looking for a primary OB/GYN to look elsewhere.

I am currently 23 weeks pregnant and pretty happy with Dr. Cardella so far. She always spends a good amount of time with us and makes sure all our questions are answered, she is always nice and not rushing through the appointment unlike some of the other doctors. I am hoping we will have a smooth labor&delivery as well.

Dr. Cardella has been a godsend during my first pregnancy. She’s incredibly knowledge, professional, and personable- she took the time to get to know me and made sure I felt comfortable asking any and every question I might have (and I’ve had a lot of them!). When it came to options available for different tests, she explained everything thoroughly, highlighting pros and cons of each option and giving me the knowledge I needed to make an informed choice. When I have questions or concerns I am always able to call the office and get a timely response from her. Even though she has plenty of other patients, I always feel like I have her full attention and my health and that of my baby are her top priority. I can’t imagine entrusting our care to anyone else.

Arrived at my appointment 15 minutes late. I was told by the staff member that patients are allowed a 15 minute grace period. When I got into the exam room I explained to the nurse why I was late which was due to inclement weather. The nurse said she understood and the patient scheduled right after me had cancelled anyway. After speaking with this doctor about 15 minutes she said “excuse me I need to go because it’s not fair to the patients that got here on time to wait on me.” I considered her comments to be very rude because her staff could have offered to reschedule me if time was an issue even though I was there by the grace period and she said patients were waiting for her even though her nurse communicated the next appointment after had cancelled. Poor manners and in need of a a coaching session.
