Dr. Colleen Marie Mccleery, MD

I was a patient of Dr McCleery's and she implanted estradiol and testosterone pellets. I warned her about my dht sensitivity at the hair follicle which she also knew about. She dosed me very high with the testosterone pellet and my hair fell out. The estradiol pellet was also too high and I bled for 4 months. She then put me on an estradiol cream that was dosed too high and I continued to bleed. The testosterone cream was low dosed which was the right choice for me. When I called her for advice because my symptoms coincided with too much estradiol she flipped flopped on the course of treatment three times. She had a condescending attitude due to her incompetence. I'm in the medical field and have adequate knowledge which is probably threatening to her. She is knowingly overdosing people whether on pellets or creams and is very dangerous for menopausal women's health.

Not impressed. My hormones have been all over the place. Many bad side effects. So many excuses and reasons. I have no confidence in her opinions and adjustments. Not a good experience.

Dr. Mccleery presents a beguiling facade but watch out; this woman is a total and complete mercenary. The day she implanted the pellets, as soon as I got in my car I knew something was wrong. It was soon apparent that the dosage she gave me was far too high, and for the next 3 months I was left to deal with an estrogen flood. I was so weak, I collapsed on my coach and stayed there the whole Summer. I couldn't operate a car safely because the estrogen gave me severe brain fog. When I called and spoke with her in distress, she looked at the blood tests taken after the pellets were implanted, and told me I was fine. That was the extent of her reaction & her involvement. I waited 3 months for the pellets to dissolve, and at that point she prescribed a 90-day supply of oral estrogen & progesterone (at minimal dosages) to keep away the every-two-hour hot flashes and that would allow me to sleep. After 90 days, I called to renew my prescriptions and I was turned away. "We don't do oral… prescriptions, only implants", I was told. When I pushed back, they said, "Sure, but those prescription scripts, she's going to charge you $200 just write them." I was left out in the cold, and my body has never recovered.

I have been going to Dr. Mccleery for over 3 years now, for Bio-identical hormones. It was amazing the difference I felt. I never knew that my hormone levels were an issue. No other doctor ever checked me for that. She is kind, caring and explains everything to you. I ask questions often, and she always spends time answering my concerns.

Dr. McCleery seems very scattered. My first appointment I waited over 2 hours to see her. Once I did see her, she did seem receptive to answer my questions as I was new. My second appointment was a phone consult. I awaited over 35 minutes to speak to her. She spent about two minutes with me over the phone, as she had others to get to. I have called her and still awaiting a call back after 3 messages over a three days period. Hoping to speak with her Monday...today is Friday and she does not have office hours...most likely not to get back to me from my original message left Tuesday. Her staff seems disinterested if I speak to her. They are very concerned I schedule for the next appointment. Hmmm....this office lacks patient responsiveness.

Dr. McCleary is very knowledgeable on the HRT Exuberin. She returns calls within several hours and she remembers our conversations!. I enjoy her high energy and easy mannerism
