Dr. Colleen Maclin Schmitt, MD

Dr. Schmitt had done her research on my history and was ready for me when I came into the room. She was very relaxed and competent and immediately put me at ease with the procedure. Her bedside manner is impeccable.

I appreciate so much the exceptional quality of care you provided me recently with the colonoscopy procedure. Your active leadership role in your chosen specialty, research, numerous published articles and presentations, and recognition for being among the â??best in classâ?? for clinical excellence deserves admiration, respect, and recognition. My â??lifelong" resistance to periodic colonoscopy assessments is now history!

The follow up after tests or procedures is very poor! The staff seems to have no compassion and will not return calls. Scheduling is such a difficult process it causes undue stress. The Dr, NP, or staff will not listen to the patient. It seems as if they simply read off a script or check a box. Not individualized treatment at all!

After a horrendous year of health and dealing with an awful GI in another city, I was fortunate enough (with the help of another great GI-too far away to be my full time Dr) to get in with Dr. Schmitt. She made room in her schedule to see me and helped incorporate a plan that has since put my Crohn's in remission. She has always been there to answer questions for me and my mother. I feel blessed to have Dr Schmitt as my GI and know she is looking out for my best interest. I also must say that her staff is amazing (I love Ms. Linda, myou infusion nurse). Overall, nothing but good things to say about this Dr and her team.

Dr. Schmitt and her PA Doris Hawk are both one of a kind. They care about the patient. They care if you are fixed? and if not, what are the different ways to see what is best for you and to help you. Staff is great. Office is spotless and waiting area is fabulous even though you are not there long. I can't say enough about how caring they are.

I have nothing but the highest opinion of Dr. Schmitt! She is courteous and professional and yet makes you feel as if she truly cares about you. I have never had her be rude or unsympathetic. In my opinion, she is THE BEST!!

Misdiagnosed problem after I repeatedly told her what I thought it was. (Turns out I was correct) Only after going to a different doctor did I finally get the correct diagnosis and surgery. This was unfortunately after several expensive procedures that were not needed.

Great staff. Everyone is very kind and very good bedside manners. Scheduling appointments can be challenging but it is worth the small inconvenience.
