Dr. Cordell Mitchell, MD

Dr. Mitchell is the most patient doctor ever! He does not rush through the appointment. I remembered during my pregnancy my little son was always hiding and the nurse could not detect movements and I was hysterical and afraid crying more than a baby. He stayed the entire with me crying and ask if it would help to speak to my husband which I did and he remained seated comforting me until I was calm. He then redid the scan and my baby moved from his hiding spot. The day of C-section, he was very patient and it went smoothly. I still go to him for my annuals without any problems!

Dr. Mitchell is a great doctor for women who have no problems medically. My initial interaction was poor. I had become a patient of his in 2017. I had not had any sexual encounters for almost 2 years when I began having double periods. He asked me multiple times if I was sure I wasn’t pregnant. Of course I’m sure when I haven’t been intimate with anyone. When doing my pelvic exam I requested the small speculum. He asked why, I said because nothing has internally gone in there for almost 2 years he said you really haven’t had any sex. I said “no I have not!”Then he said let’s see if this is an actual period. First of all if it wasn’t a true period I would not require a pad. Then they lost my initial sample sent for my Pap smear. He told me no call means good news. When I requested my lab results they said we never did anything. I had to argue with the practice manager to do another Pap smear with out charging my insurance again since the sample never made it to the lab. Fast forward to… 2018. When I was 6months into my new relationship. I began experiencing pain during Intercourse. I went in he did a pelvic exam. Told me I may have hurt myself when having sex with my boyfriend come back in a month if the pain is still there. He said if the pain is still there we will need to do a steroid injection in the spot of pain. A STEROID INJECTION INTRAVAGINALLY! THAT IS NOT NORMAL. That last visit was my last straw. I went to an OB Gyn in Orlando Health. They recommended me to see a Pelvic Therapy. When my pain didn’t completely go away but it was alleviated we did an Exploratory surgery Laparoscopically and found out I have endometriosis which is part of my pain during Intercourse. Moral of the story if you have No health concerns he is good. If you have other underlying issues seek a second opinion. His old school medicine techniques do not involve exploring possibilities of what if.

I delivered my first with Dr. Mitchell. He had terrible bedside manner and did not talk to me about anything going on with my pregnancy. He never knew who i was week to week. He continued to review old information in my charts. I still stayed with him and had a csection with my son. I was never offered an induction, just pressured into a csection at almost 42 weeks. My son was a big baby. About 1.5 years after i had my son , i had an unexpected positive pregnancy test. I immediately scheduled an appointment. The staff had no record of me being a patient. He had no recollection of delivering my son. After my test at the office was negative he ordered a blood test. This also came back negative but i took two more at home tests and received positive readings. I confronted him about this after he accused me of having lupus as an answer to why i could be testing positive. I was advised by a friend of mine working at a pregnancy center to go to the hospital. They confirmed the pregnancy… although my levels were low. I ended up having a miscarriage two days later. To have a doctor lack some much compassion for a woman going through something as hard as a loss was shocking to me. Later that month i received a phone call asking me to come back in due to some abnormal results on my pap. I came in and they scheduled a surgery for me. My husband took off work and we went together and as the doctor came in he said i needed a different surgery and they wouldn’t be performing this one today. Again, i left the office in tears. I found a new OB and never looked back. Had a successful surgery and another heathy pregnancy! I do not recommend this office.

Dr Cordell’s office made me feel at home. They were all very friendly and helpful. Kim Bowles was absolutely amazing with a very sad situation with my step-daughter who went through a miscarriage. Two thumbs up to her and the whole staff.

I have know Dr. Mitchell for over 20 years and I could not ask for a better OBGYN. He is an excellent doctor and today he still remains as my OBGYN. I wish doctor Mitchell could stay forever. This is the most caring doctor I have ever met in this industry. Doctor Mitchell is also my daughter's OBGYN and today he still remains as her OBGYN. This was the only OBGYN I trust with my daughter when she had turned 18yrs.of age. An Excellent OBGYN.

I can believe this DOCTOR is as cold as his staff I solely believe his office manager and staff was up to the disrespect I have received while under his care. Not only did I find out today the Doctor he referred me to has opt of for my continue care ,but one of his staff charged me twice for my one time co- pay . My mind is blown . Some people don't deserve to work in the healthcare field. I'm so glad I recorded most of my conversations with him and his staff, just in case something pops off. Doctor Mitchell I expected more from you and cannot believe this is the character of a man who made me feel otherwise.

I was referred to Doc by my primary I had to have a biopsy done do to my abnormal heavy bleeding, my first visit was great staff , but tension star to rise between his staff and I so I was referred out. If I hate to rate him based on his staff it will be zero,but for himself it will be 9 because he really made me feel like he cared about my health. Horrible and uncaring staff. Office manager was very short with me and asking me personal ? Valerie is the only kind soul on his staff

Have been a patient since 1996. I love Dr. Mitchell and his staff. Simply the best!

There is no better doctor in central Florida. He is a wonderful doctor worth visiting
