Dr. Corinne Ashley Yarbrough, MD

I'm glad to see online that others have had great experiences with Dr. Yarborough, bc the ~4 experiences I had with her make me concerned for others that see her who maybe have limited choices regarding their medical care. No blood work was ordered during my first physical, even though I was a new patient of hers and have hypothyroidism. I told her then that I was having horrible anxiety, and she excitedly recommended I take medication for it, claiming that anxiety medication is very effective and safe (a pt which I don't necessarily take issue with, as I'm not familiar with anxiety meds... but I admit feeling uncomfortable that she seemed to suggest medication so quickly and enthusiastically). At the end of my second physical with her, after she checked my vitals and told me that blood work wasn't needed given my current status and age (late 20s, relatively good physical shape), I asked if I should have my TSH level checked. Her eyes kinda popped open and she said, "Oh, maybe - I… don't have your chart in front of me". Bloodwork showed that my T4 level was too high, and my anxiety decreased in the first months that I started taking a lower levothyroxine dosage. She had also misdiagnosed an injury of mine and gave me a painful vaginal exam in the time she was my GP. Each time I saw her, even though it really seemed like she is a good, genuine person, it kinda felt like she just half-assed it with me. I did not feel in good hands with her and am happy to have better insurance now and a new GP.

If you want a doctor who abruptly discontinues a medication without the professional integrity to look you in the eye when she does it, this physician is your choice. Doesn't calibrate to patient's individual needs, just follows her own agenda.

She was excellent! Very easy to talk to, very personable.
