Cortney Atkins, Psy D, LP

Cortney Atkins, PsyD, LP, is a licensed psychologist who provides behavioral health care for children, teens, and adults ages 5 and older. Dr. Atkins offers assessment and treatment for a range of mental health concerns, with a clinical focus on trauma- and stressor-related disorders, medical trauma, mood disorders, anxiety, and depression. Dr. Atkins has experience in community mental health, inpatient psychiatric care, and specialized behavioral health settings. She has worked with patients from rural communities and understands that starting mental health care can feel unfamiliar or hard to navigate. In visits, she works to create a safe space where patients can ask questions, feel heard, and take part in their care plan. Her approach is based on each patient's needs. She uses evidence-based treatments and is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy. She earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from Alliant International University …and completed post-doctoral residency training at Sanford Health Traumatic Stress Treatment Center. Outside of work, Dr. Atkins enjoys paddle boarding, fishing, camping, crafting, and going to concerts.
