Very professional and promptly returns messages.

Because of Dr Berent's expert care and Baylor Scott & White's diagnostic technolog I know that in time each of my medical needs will be met.

Dr Berent has been my primary physician for almost 25 years. I always knew my health was in the best hands. I'm sad for me that he's retiring but happy for him bc it's well deserved. I hope whomever I find to replace him is just as good

Seeing this Dr. for cold symptoms, is not worth the visit. Find another Dr. because I have been sick 4 days after seeing this dr. With zero results. I also tried calling dr for a cough suppressant with the nurse and no call back. He is not worth seeing, seriously don’t waste your money.

Highly unethical behavior relating to patient wishes.

My first appointment with Dr. Berent was fine except for the random $105 "new patient fee" which was fine at the moment, but upon later inquiry seems very fishy. Then I had a slip and busted my chin and called the office. They referred me to an urgent care, which I went and had gotten staples. A few months later my insurance calls saying they do not have any referral from my PCP (Dr. Berent). So I called his office to which I get a response "we do not hand out referrals to urgent care" which I understand, makes sense. But when my insurance insists on the referral or at least a note stating I called his office, Dr. Berent refused. He would not even write a letter stating that his office does not hand out referrals for urgent care. A patient of his is dealing with insurance problems that can be fixed with one short letter and he wouldn't even do it. He says "its not my problem and not my responsibility" If you have ever had problems with insurance claims (which is basically… everyone) then do not choose Dr. Berent as your primary care physician or anyone under the name of Primary Care Physicians of Austin. Because it seems like " it is not there problem." Worst doctor I have ever had.

Dr. Berent has been my primary care physician for over 8 years. He manages my high blood pressure treatment, and has always provided knowledgeable diagnosis for other problems.I've found his bed side manner professional polite and not cloying; the right amount of distance and concern.
