Dr. Rineer joined Wilmington Orthopaedic Group in 2009. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania (Summa Cum Laude) where he received degrees in Bioengineering from the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and in Economics from the Wharton School. Dr. Rineer received his medical degree from the Duke University School of Medicine where he graduated Alpha Omega Alpha and was a Nanaline Duke Scholar. He also received the Joseph Markee Memorial Award in Gross Anatomy and the Phillips Medical Systems Award for academic achievement. Dr. Rineer completed his orthopaedic residency in the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency Program. He then returned to the Duke University Medical Center where he completed a fellowship in Hand, Upper Extremity, and Microvascular Surgery.

Dr. Rineerâ€™s clinical interests include hand, upper extremity, and microvascular surgery, as well as general orthopaedic trauma. He resides in Wilmington with his wife and two daughters.

I broke my ring finger on the right hand in two places it was a difficult operation and had to have screws and plates inserted I now have full use of my finger and can do everything I did before amazing

Very pleasant. Reviewed the entire procedures and then focused upon the one most suitable. The procedure was performed quickly and home instruction was clear.

Dr. Rineer was very professional in evaluating my injury and he clearly explained my condition, options, and expectations. He was very pleasant to speak with, he patiently and thoroughly answered my questions and made me comfortable with the treatment option I chose.

Dr Rineer was very professional and he expressed empathy to my condition, he was very thorough in explaining the X-ray and what had happened to my elbow and what procedure could correct the abnormalities, I was very pleased that he left the final decision up to me!

I really enjoyed my visit with Dr Rineer, he explained everything I needed to know about me visit. I was in and out in less than an hour, yes during Covid, and with more knowledge and less stress than when I entered. And let’s be honest, I don’t know a single person who leaves Dr. Rineer with out being in less pain and/or more awareness. He’s awesome in my opinion:)

I had a very sore hand and Dr. Rineer Immediately diagnosed my problem as trigger finger and fixed my problem with an injection.

I continue to be very pleased with the knowledge and care Dr. Rineer has provided for the base of both of my thumbs. He has been very through with the explanations of how to treat and has involved me in the decision as to when I am ready for surgery. His manner and patience has been excellent.
